I never get to play Caspian Border and it pisses me off. The only maps I get to play are Operation Firestorm, Kharg Island and Damavand Peak. Which are all really good levels, I'd just like to play more than just those three.

Why do you only get to play those 3?

As for the maps, with some more play I have changed some of my ideas towards the maps. Note - I play almost 100% conquest large on PC (so 5 flags per map, and larger maps than console or regular conquest).

Operation Metro - Still hate it. On Conquest it's a complete meat grinder. It's great if you are a Medic and you want a ton of points. Other than that, it's no fun and the team that starts up top has an unfair advantage. It's just a terrible design for conquest. Of course it's a terrible design for rush. Have I mentioned I hate this map?

Caspian Border - This is an overall excellent map. Very diverse.

Operation Firestorm - Tank and air warfare is what this one is all about. You can do some infantry stuff in the middle buildings, and snipers waste away on the hills and upper structures (is that fun? How can people stand that? It has to be boring as hell). I have played it so much I am getting a little bored of it.

Seine Crossing - This one has grown on me. There is actually a lot of ways to play it. There are some choke points, and some players sit and mortar all game (not if they are on the other team, I counter mortar). Yet it can have some epic fights.

Kharg Island - This is my least favorite map at the moment. Too big and not enough vehicles. Lots of running. It gets boring. It needs to be smaller.

Damavand Peak - Still not a fan, but it has gotten a little better. I still feel they need some flanking paths. The only way to flank is with the little bird.

Noshahr Canals - Meh. I can take it or leave it.

Tehran Highway - It's not a bad map. The night time setting of course sets it apart. I would say above average.

Grand Bazaar - This one has really grown on me and has become one of my favorites. It's mostly infantry, but each area is very diverse. There are lots of ways to flank. If you want a meat grinder, it's there at the middle flag (which has a ton of ways to get there, so it can be flanked). If you don't, there are a bunch of other flags with many ways to get there. This is a very well designed infantry map.

I usually just do the quick match and do whatever map I can get into. Those aren't the only 3 I get to play, just the ones that I remember playing most often.

I don't know how the console browser is, but search for those other maps so you can play them more (assuming you can). I never use quick match, and of course I have some servers saved as favorites.

Oh, and it's pet peeve time. A couple of them for now.

Spotting - My #1 pet peeve. Spot people. Spot all the times. Especially vehicles. If you see a vehicle, spot it. Even if it's already spotted, spot it again. It restarts their spot timer. I can't count how many times I have turned a corner and looked down the barrel of a tank that wasn't spotted, and I know someone had to see it. Helicopters are even worse. There is no reason for helicopters not to be spotted. If you are not in a firefight, look to the sky and check for helicopters. Especially if you are a tank gunner. So many times I have been shot in the ass while I am in a tank by a helicopter that was unspotted (of course it helps if you don't have a worthless mobile AA gunner, which most are). If it was spotted there are lots of things I can do. It irks me every time I am killed by an unspotted vehicle. Even for jets, spot them. It helps your jet pilots a ton.

Don't be afraid to die - At choke points people cower like little girls. If you are an engineer, put some bad news up their ass with RPG's. If you are a medic, revive non stop and throw out med backs. Pop out and get off a few rounds. Cowing back to heal is fine. If you are support, you should be super aggressive. First of all, throw out ammo packs. Then check for guys further back of the point sniping rushers (this is where snipers help, which is their main goal here). Take them out, throw down some suppressing fire, check for an opening, and then rush that shit. Most of the time you will surprise the crap out of them and take out 3 before you die. With support all you have to do is hip fire. If the rest of your team is good they will follow, clear out the rest, and you will get revived.

Those are the two things that tick me off the most. You don't even have to be a good shot to do those things.

Oh, one more thing people need to be aware of. Many of the people testing weapons have mentioned something. They have noticed that if you stand still (or crouch or prone still) your head hit box increases. In other words, if you camp, you are more likely to be head shotted.

first of all, my experience is nothing like cmo's. I play all of the maps without picking. sometimes it will repeat 1-2 maps within a 4-6 map span, but I never get stuck with a few maps only

second of all, the server browser doesn't work well because games fill up too fast, the info is either wrong or outdated in terms of quantities, etc.

joining friends can still be tricky at times if,they are already in a game. the game is too good at filling spots

Played some today, and after a match I decided to look at some of the other players from that game in Battlelog. There are some seriously bad players out there. Yet that is not the surprising part. I was amazed at people that had low ppm but high ranks. One guy had a K/D of .3 and a ppm under 200. He was level 36. He had something like 80 hours played. It baffles me how people can be so bad at a game, and play that much.

I consider myself pretty much average, but after looking through some of those stats I feel like a super star (until the next time I go up against good players and get destroyed).

Well, I played a couple of weekends ago with a buddy who hadn't played a BF game, ever. Needless to say, 15+ rounds of him going 5-15 and only getting 800-1000 points set my stats so far back that I can't get out from under them.

For example, my typical round the past week or so has been 1.5 k/d and 5k points, yet my ppm is still terrible, as well as my k/d. I've found a lot of "bad" players according to their stats just struggled early on.

Of course, I'm only at 17 hours, including about 10 this week :)
