Great, now I have to go into gamestop and cancel my game there. I hate dealing with those douches.

Less than 24 hours to go (launch for MP is 3AM EST).

Reviews are coming in. Right now sits at 93 on Metacritic with 15 reviews in (that number will grow though, so the score could shift some).

Pretty much what I expect from Battlefield games. Lackluster single player (although reviewers seem to like it better than the BC games), but multiplayer that more than makes up for it and then some.

These are PC reviews, so they rave about the graphics. DICE has confirmed that console visuals are essentially the low settings on the PC, which still look pretty good, but no where near the PC visuals (especially at high PC resolutions).

BTW...there is a texture pack for consoles that you can choose to use. No word on effect to framerate, or if it is for both the multiplayer and singleplayer. I am sure there will be plenty of articles that will come out soon detailing it. I have seen a screen shot (see attached), and it makes a huge difference. Yet information about it are sketchy right now.

Those shots are obviously from the single player. Will have to wait for launch to see multiplayer. I am sure anyone with a high def television will want to install the texture pack, and I believe it's part of the disc/discs not a download (just a rumor though, needs to be confirmed).

On another side note, if anyone is looking to actually upgrade their PC so they can play this game, I might be selling one of my video cards soon. Depends if a Amazon deal for a 6970 actually goes through. Long story, but Amazon had a deal for one that seems too good to be true. It's not a crazy pricing mistake (it was still $225), and Amazon has honored those types of things in the past (they had a similar thing with a GTX580 and GTX570 that they honored).

If so, I can sell a GTX280 or GTX560Ti somewhat cheap here. If no one wants one, I will just sell one through other means. I will know more in a couple of weeks.

In regards to the texture pack thing for Consoles, I was told at Gamestop it was a second disc you insert to install prior to playing the game. I will be getting it at 12:01 tonight along with a buddy of mine. We both took tomorrow off work to act like little kids again. Can't wait.

If you have Battlefield for PC downloaded, you can play now.

Change IE to the proxy server...

203.232.208.116
Port: 8080

It's under internet options, LAN settigs.

Launch BF3. It will bypass the date check (it will think you are in Korea where the game has launched). It will try to launch Battlelog but fail. Simply remove the proxy server, and relaunch BF3. Bam, you are good to go. Servers are up and running right now, even in the US.

In case you are worried about getting banned, EA stated they would not ban for this
