I've been playing the SP so far. It's kind of boring, once I beat it I'll probably never touch it again. I hate how all the levels are so damn dark and you can hardly see shit in the SP.

just started sp, agreed. though I tend to turn up the brightness a bit for the sake of mp visibility.

Here's my update. I went ahead and got this for the PC instead of the PS3. I'm ordering a new Vid card soon, but I was happy to see my system can run the campaign mode well with my old card.

My system:
Q6600 Quad core 2.4 ghz
ATI 4670 512 megs
4 gigs of RAM

Running 1400x900 on mostly medium quality and couple settings on low, AA is off.

I've just now passed the jet mission in the campaign mode and my system has kept up well.

I'll be ordering something like a 6870 for around $150 and may OC my CPU if needed.

I'm enjoying the early campaign fairly well, it's not all that difficult, but the story is compelling and the visuals/cinematics, imo, are very impressive. We all know the meat of this game is multiplayer and I'll get into that tomorrow.

Btw, any PC players hit me up sometime, my Origin ID is DA-Bucks (shocking!)

Ranking up makes a huge difference in killing ability via guns, and this game has 10x as many unlockables as Bad Company 2

I would highly recommend the shotgun with the assault kit. it has devastating stopping power. I'm a solid BF player and I feel like I'm shooting BBs with the other gun.

my only gripe so far is switching discs when I bounce between SP and MP, but that is the trade off for great textures. that also won't be an issue after beating the SP, as I rarely replay the campaign mode. Halo 1 is the exception to that rule, can't wait for Nov 15.

Just my quick thoughts on each map. I am not going to go into specifics here, just quick words (note - I play mostly conquest right now).

Operation Metro - hate it. I am not sure I will ever play it again
Caspian Border - Love it
Operation Firestorm - Love it
Grand Bazaar - It's pretty good.
Damavand Peak - Hate it. No flanking except with the little bird
Tehran Highway - Sort of like Grand Bazaar. It's pretty good.
Kharg Island - I actually have not played this map. Not sure why. I will have to search for that one the next time around.
Seine Crossing - Meh. With 64 players it's such a cluster, but at least there are multiple routes and some flanking.
Noshahr Canals - It's ok. Not bad, not that good.

I could literally play Caspian and Firestorm all day long. Damavand Peak is such a mess. There is no flanking. I could never play Damavand and Metro ever again and be happy.

Well the servers seemed to be a lot better this morning/afternoon before I came to work. They still fucking suck at putting everyone in your squad on the same team though. Time and time again 3-4 of us would join a game and 1 of us would be on the opposing team and we'd have to keep trying to switch when a spot came open.

If you have a well organized squad you can do some serious work on this game. I've been leveling up Recon mostly, and we have a high level support guy with mortars. I find a nice high spot and just "spot" targets off in the distance while sniping and he is able to drop mortars on them. Can't wait until I get my UAV spotting to make it even easier.

I started out TERRIBLE at the game since I haven't played BF on the console really. But now that I got the hang of it my K/D is quickly on the rise and I had plenty of 20+ kill games with only 5-8 deaths. I like the Conquest game mode myself, because the enemy can be anywhere and everyone isn't trying to shove themselves down the same ally or street to get in a building.

My Origins name is "HeliosMagua" & gamertag for 360 is "Helios Magua" - difference only being the space.

179 score per minute? Come on, pick it up! (I looked you up on Battlelog)

JK. It's tough to score with Recon. I am finally up to 265 per minute (which is near average), and that was tough to get to since I almost always play large conquest maps (large conquest is the worst for getting points). Plus I was really low to start out with since I spent most of the time just exploring the maps more than scoring.

I need to play some rush with medic. That is a point machine.

Yeah my SPM is low with Recon but I rarely die. You should have seen my score yesterday. My SPM & KD Ratio was so horrible after the first night (I didn't play the beta at all so was fighting an uphill battle) but this morning I basically doubled my SCM/Ratio after playing for 2-3 hours.

I seem to rack up tons of points as Engineer (mainly from destroying vehicles or repairing them).

I also seem to be playing a lot of Conquest on big maps so it's tough to rack up points per minute. However, you're on PC so you have more targets to acquire points from :) 64 > 24!

Yeah, recon+large conquest+32 players is pretty much the worst combination for points.

FYI...PC conquest maps are larger than console conquest maps, so while there are more players the map is larger. Of course there are also more cap points (normally 1 extra per map). So that is one more flag to cap. Yet that also spreads out the players.

Ahh, no shit? I didn't know the maps were different. That's cool then because some of the maps I thought would be fucking nuts playing with 63 other people lol.

Oh also I applied for the Xbox 360 BP Platoon.

Yeah, this game is unusual since DICE actually took advantage of the PC advantages. As a PC gamer I love it.

The maps are similar though. Just a little tighter on console and 1 less cap point on conquest. For rush they are the same (rush is only 32 players for PC too).
