The texture pack is a second disc for 360 users, PS3 users can access it from the blu-ray.

According to interviews, the only reason it is "optional" on the 360 is because some people don't have HDD on their systems. Otherwise, you basically have to install it. The developer said it is necessary to fully enjoy the game.

I'm probably going to go buy this at midnight. I shouldn't because I know I'll get COD and play the shit out of that as well.. and also Skyrim.. too much money on video games that I rarely play as it is.

But I make money to spend it, right? :biggrin:

$70 shipped for the 280. $170 shipped for the 560Ti. Even then it would be negotiable.

I just sold a 280 for $85, and the 560Ti's go for about $185 used (although that may have come down recently, so I could lower the 560Ti some more).

I am still contemplating what to do though. If the deal comes through for the 6970 I might sell it and get another 560Ti. I'll let you know you know on how it all plays out.

I haven't upgraded my computer, but I'm looking to build a 1200-1500$ computer. Right now I'm at 1397$ with a z68, 2600k, 8gb ddr3-1600 8cas ram, R6970 Lightning, 128gig ssd/1tb hdd, Corsair 600t case, and a noctua nh-c14. Don't know if I'm going to pull the trigger yet, may wait for black friday. It depends on how bf3 runs.

Is that the Back to Karkand one?

I assume you are on console. You should have a code for that (I think all consoles are Limited Edition), and it should be released in a month.

If there is another one, I am not aware of it.

BTW...been playing for about an hour and a half. Conquest is awesome. All the maps (although one seems to end up in a cluster *bleep* at the middle of the map). Rush, not so much. Combo of some poor design and people that have no idea how to play Rush.

64 player servers that have been up today have been poor for the most part. Lots of rubber banding. Once the EA servers go online I expect them to be better. There is also still some hit detection issues here and there. Doesn't seem as bad as beta, but still there.

Overall great game, but the Rush maps need some work and independent servers can't seem to handle 64 players very well.

Kharg Island is the worst map I've ever played in any game.

I'll probably take back that statement after I know the map better, but as of now... it made me turn the game off less than an hour after opening it.

EDIT: And I'm not someone who just shuts it down like that, by the way. :lol:

Game is good, just hate that map so far.

why didn't they use operation firestorm for the beta?

simple map, much better demonstration of battlefield vehicles.

went 17-0 in first game I'm guessing its downhill from here :p

I like it a lot. the visuals are incredible, the maps are wide open, the frost bite destruction is Awesome.

the audio is as engrossing as the visuals, which are excellent but you can tell how much better they would be on gaming hardware that isn't almost a decade behind PC gaming specs.
