Looks like I'm the third poster here to claim INXS as my first concert, but I saw them opening up for Men at Work on their first American tour. I think I was about 9.

The best rock show I've seen was Fishbone at Ripley's in Cinci, around '99. There were less than 300 people in the audience, but they put on a show like they were at Woodstock.

One show I'm glad I got to see was pianist Hank Jones playing a trio set at a small club in NYC around '05. There's something about seeing a musician who was among the world's best for almost 70 years that few can compare to. Every note was like a diamond.

One of the worst shows I've seen was Charlie Hunter (also at Ripley's). The guy's such an egomaniac, he insists that the audience sit in complete silence while he plays music he ripped off from 60's soul organ bands (you know the kind of music that most people like to dance and have a good time to?). Everytime someone made a noise, he would just stare at them like a little bitch. His guarantee was so high, the club lost a ton of money, which basically led to it's closing (well, that, and all the after-hours parties).

The Roots played on campus last night for free. Pretty entertaining show. I didn't really know much of there music before hand but enjoyed myself.

I've seen them a few times and they always put on a great show.

I was there too...my first time seeing MMJ live. Maybe one of the best shows I've ever seen...and I've been to more than my fair share. I am supremely jealous that my sister and her fiance are going to the New Year's Eve show at MSG. One of the guys I was with saw their four hour show at Bonnaroo (which you can stream or download here). I would love to be going to see The Black Keys at the LC on Thursday but I will be out of town.

Love the Keys, but was unable to see them Thursday. Anybody else catch them?

This has been a great week of shows for me, but my friend who was supposed to buy Cold War Kids' tickets failed. I'm thinking about going to Newport Sunday and seeing if I can find someone who has an extra. It worked for me at the Fleet Foxes show so hopefully it works on Sunday.

Just got back from the Kings of Leon shows at the LC...great time. Great mix of classics and plenty of tracks off the new album, including a blistering version of Crawl and a wicked version of Closer.
