Huh. Awesome. Kind of didn't expect such glowing reviews, although there are only three.

Heard a couple friends say it wasn't that great. Thought it seemed like a good deal compared to TimeWarner (the worst company in the history of companies).

Internet compared to TimeWarner.. I'm assuming it's more reliable because it's nearly impossible to not be.. but when TW works, it is fast. Faster or on par? Or slower even?
It has been a while since I had TW (Between TW and Uverse, I had WOW - who's internet speed I was not pleased with), but I would say it's just as fast as TW. That might not be true in terms of the quoted numbers they provide on commercials, etc.. but even if it's slower, it's fast enough for my purposes (that is, digging up porn, of course).

I've had U-Verse for two years now and haven't had a single problem. The dvr playback in multiple rooms is vital when you have roommates.

As far as the internet is concerned, I don't know what you would be doing that you would even notice a difference (downloading movies maybe?)... to my extremely untrained eye broadband is broadband and I can't tell the difference in speed between the two, and I and TW for two years before I had U-Verse. If you are asking if it ever cuts out, I think it has cut out maybe twice in two years on me.

The dvr hard drive is huge, too. I record a lot of HD stuff, and seldom run out of room - I'm not the most religious deleter of content either.

I've had 1 long term loss of service, but it wasn't ATT's fault. Long and short of it was, some semi-truck came thru the neighborhood and knocked down the power lines.

I have uverse for phone and internet only. The internet service is great, and the speed will depend on which package you buy (they 3 or 4 different speeds available, all at varying costs). It does a great job providing a solid connection for Xbox live and netflix streaming. Even my wireless connections are solid and speedy.

I'm having issues with my phone though, but I was having those issues before I switched over to them. I'll be placing another service call this morning for the phones.

I haven't had a LAN home phone in years. We have a dedicated cell phone for that purpose.

I'm also happy with it. The series-recording feature is very handy. Just hit the record button a second time, and it will grab that show on that channel whenever it's within 1 hour (I believe) of that starting time.

If you're using it for Internet, the installer didn't provide much info on Internet security features, I figured that out myself. Things like changing the SSID and the password.

Do you need any extra equipment to get Netflix streaming through Uverse?
