Still doesn't change the fact that the gas already sitting in the tanks at the local station was from a different barrel cost and not the price of today's barrel.

I know I know doesn't matter because they can charge whatever they want no matter what their cost was....

BTW the historical quotes 3 weeks ago (which is near the range of when the oil was actually bought) was in the $99 dollar per barrel range.

I see what you are saying and again I go back to the fact that the price went up the minute the missiles started flying...which had nothing to do with the price of the barrel 3 weeks ago....

I came across something the other day where I worked out my gas budget at 34 cents a gallon for my first car. That's about $1.95 om 2011 dollars.

Why so cheap in the late 60s/early 70s? No imports, US self-sufficiency.

paid $3.36 yesterday for regular. I was happy about that. Being happy about that makes me sad. :(

I just paid 3.35 a gallon in Columbus and am happy I got gas today. The manager of the Speedway told me that he expected to have his gas priced between 3.59-3.79 a gallon within 48 hours. Its pathetic at how fast gas prices rise when they dont drop equally as fast!
