Anyone capable of discussing gas without politics? Anyone?

Costco is around $5.85 a gallon for 87 octane. Over $6.00 for 91. Of course, Cali has probably the most fuel tax of any state. Governor added $1.00+ in tax for 'roads'. Of course, he failed to mention that this would fund our 'train to nowhere'. Many tens of billions for 'high speed rail' system from Bakersfield to Merced - not a favorite destination (either one) of many folk. Plus, the HSR has more twists and turns than a mountain road, not allowing any train to gain a full head of steam. did I mention the plethora of stops? Everyone lobbied for having 'their' city as a stop.

Why anyone would live there is beyond me.

I lived there from 75-89 and then I visited frequently after that but I haven't been there since 2015. California truly is God's country but it's being run by devils which is a shame. It has SO MUCH potential to be so much better.

There's an old gas station not far from my house. It is currently being rebuilt. I wonder if they will be putting in any charging stations, a bigger convenience store, or just keep the same concept of a few pumps and a small store. The future of gas stations will be interesting to watch.
