Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

It'll be the Alabama Invitational sponsored by the SEC Network as long as ESPN owns the rights to both the network and the CFP, and Saban doesn't drop 3 games in a season.

The committee produces a weekly CFP hype show for ESPN, stirs up callers for Finebaum on SEC Network, and fills out the rest of the field to make it look like there's deep analysis mere mortals couldn't possibly understand.
And this reason is why kids will continue to sit out the other meaningless bowl games. CFB is such a vast big business that it's a joke to even think of it as a amateur sport anymore. Once the SEC and ESPN got in bed together, every other conference has a major uphill battle. Most of the public has already been brainwashed into thinking that the SEC has the best teams and the best players, and the best teams of other conferences would be average if they joined the mighty SEC. And the excuses start the minute an SEC team loses, and praises are lofted heavily after wins. For example, Auburn loses to UCF and the narrative is that Auburn got bored and didn't get up for the game. South Carolina beats scUM and fake USC has a superior team and has SEC speed. And the kids watch tv and read websites, they're not stupid. They know that, and you can see the chip on their shoulder throughout social media.

that's pretty fucking impressive.

Success begets success. While we may not have had this kind of success in terms of the trophy case, it does explain a lot about why tOSU has been where it’s been for 2+ decades... and conversely, why tsun hasn’t. I have to imagine that it’s equally difficult to maintain that kind of success as it is to break out of a couple decade slump.

The only entity who could intervene is the NCAA and they washed their hands of the "national championship" at the FBS level ages ago.

ESPN can put whoever they want in their tournament. As long as sponsors and fans continue to buy it, they'll sell it.
Yep. If we keep buying it it'll never be brought up.

The hipocracy the NCAA shows with this is comical to me. Spouting about being amateur etc etc yet they leave college football relatively unregulated with matters that concern theie bottom line.

How the world is I guess. It's like steroid users who claim to be natural. I don't disagree with steroids (they should legalize them and tax it) but don't tell me something you re not.

In this case with the NCAA don't give me some bull shit about looking after their student athletes when they clearly only do what is best for them.

Which is greater in disparity guys?

A) the level Scum is at compared to osu OR

B) the level osu is at compared to Alabama?

I'd say Scum is further from us then we are to Bama.

Simulated BCS Standings - Final

carry on ...

I'm wondering if Army's win over Navy would have boosted tOSU ahead of Bama in these 'final BCS standings', since it was a regular season game that wouldn't have been included as of December 3rd.
