Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

If not for the clown show of #48, I'd stand up and give the Bama teamwork an ovation. Really like Tua (let alone Jalen's maturity). Interesting to see a similar level of class as Marcus Mariota.

Also a major breath of fresh air after the Baker, Jameis, Johnny types we've had lately.
I disagree... that defense and the running game got them to the title. Not the poor throwing QB
that's not mutually exclusive to being a Bama legend. They haven't had a good QB since McCarron... until now.
No where near the defense and MoC... same as hurts (actually their numbers are fairly close)
Krenzel outrushed MoC and McGahee.

opinion of teammate > opinion of random internet guy
But I'm a really fucking savvy internet guy...

serious note... Yes we don't win the title without Craig because it was his throw vs Purdue and his run vs Cincinnati that won those games. That said, Jalen Hurts didn't have ANY of those moments and as such wasn't anywhere near as clutch as Craig was.

The 2002 team still won mainly due to the defense but Alabama this season didn't have any need for Jalen to go win them a game.

Which hurts didn't have to do all year... Alabama didn't win their games this year because hurts is some good QB.. they won their games because A) most teams were poor and B) their running game and defense
Hurts was been their second leading rusher the past two seasons.

I'm not saying he's a great or even good QB, but he's still been their QB and he has a skillset that Saban hadn't had before him. His mobility has absolutely helped them win games the past two years.

So I just went and checked.... Alabama has the following schedule

Louisville (in Orlando)
Arkansas State
@ Ole Miss
Texas AM
UL Lafayette
@ Arkansas
Missouri
@ Tennessee
BYE
@ LSU
MSU
The Citadel
Auburn

So a worse non conference slate and somehow they get the bye week again before LSU?

How are they always able to seemingly have control of their bye week? They're already extremely difficult to beat but the fact that they never play a road game, always play an FCS opponent, and always have their BYE before they play LSU is criminal. They literally should be approached like they have lost an extra game at years end (and should've for the past 8 years)
