Alabama Crimson Tide (official thread of Football, Fake Championships and Banjo)

Time should heal all wounds. They're still Buckeyes, look at the reception that Pryor got when he played the preseason game in The Shoe. Fans still love him and embrace him. Dumb moves while they were young and immature shouldn't be held over their heads forever. The Tat 5 had a great run and was a great bridge to the current Buckeye team(except the whole giving back wins and the 2011 year of what should've been)
Maybe I'll come around to it. I did hold a grudge against Florida for 2007 by rooting for Tennessee against Florida when we were recruiting Vonn Bell. But this year, I did root for Florida against Georgia. You're right... Time is the best healer. We'll see how long I take to get over this.

Unless your grudge includes a longer ban for Tressel, you should work on moving past it. Those guys did what countless others have done. The problem was that Tressel lied about it and used amateur methods to discuss it internally. Otherwise it would have been a slap on the wrist for the program.

How dare you throw irrefutable logic in my face... Grumble... Grumble...

You still aren't over this? I never understood being mad at them in the first place. They sold/traded personal items for money and tattoos. Who cares? I can't bring myself to actually be mad at them about that. Even Tressel lying about it never bothered me. Be mad at the NCAA and their stupid rules.

Furthermore, the legacy of that team, in my eyes, was re-establishing Ohio State as an elite program and giving us respect across the country again. Because after the Florida game, and later the LSU game, absolutely every game we won for years -- YEARS -- was deemed irrelevant by the public. It wasn't until Pryor & co beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl, and later Arkansas in the Sugar Bowl, that Ohio State was thought of as an elite program again. This should be appreciated.

And now, strangely, we are better off that the Tat 5 scandal happened. We upgraded at coach and the program is in an even better place than it was before.

Am I the only one baffled by all of the love for Alabama, and the talk of their dominance this year? I get it that they're undefeated, and they've beat everyone they scheduled. But when I hear from analysts that there's Alabama and they're ahead of everyone else, it puzzles me. Yes, they've played their toughest games on the road like tOSU, but unlike tOSU those teams were actually not all that good or consistent. As of today's rankings, Bama has 1 win over a team in the top 15, ONE! And that team wasn't even nearly as goof as they are now(USC). Ohio State has 3 with a 4th coming this Saturday(fuck _ichigan). tOSU has played inconsistent due to youth and inexperience at a number of positions, but with the veterans that Bama has all over the field, they haven't always played top notch either(though they've been more consistent than us). I would actually look forward to playing them in an NC, and having a rematch with their DT QB in Hurts. It'd be interesting to see our D line vs their O line and our DBs taking on their WRs.

eh

You win multiple NC's and are #1 recruiting class every year you get the benefit of the doubt

I can't really find a way to be outraged by Bama being considered #1 until someone proves otherwise.

They have won 4 of the last 7 Championships. Thats fucking insane. They could have lost to Chatanoooooga and still gotten into the Playoffs.
It always seems like they have beasts in the trenches which is why their RB's and QB's play well, then get to the league and look like shit.
