Yes I think that was the one.

Fixed. As expected, someone linked in an image from that site. That site is compromised. The image itself wasn't. No threat here, but Google errs on the side of caution (and I have no problem with that).

Image removed.

Not that anyone will see this, but everyone should really try to limit image links to trustworthy sites. Google has a safe site diagnostic that shows site infection history for any domain.

Still getting the huge BMW ad in chrome, happened on the laptop earlier as well.

Here are shots of the other ads on the page:

That's helpful, thank you. We had another bad ad come in on that Autism Speaks PSA some time ago, so I immediately suspect that. Unfortunately, I have to be able to get the ad myself (or someone able to capture the code behind it -- in something like Firebug) in order to be able to figure out exactly where it's coming from so it can be squashed.

I will continue to try and track it down. Any information anyone can provide about that Autism ad (as above) would be appreciated.

@Clarity - So, I clicked on a thread this morning on my home computer laptop and I got the same notification from Chrome. I noticed the ads were Galaxy SIII and a couple of AT&T banners at the top and bottom of the page. I had not closed BP from yesterday, which I think may be relevant because I did not get another notification for the remainder of my browsing BP this AM, probably about 30 minutes to 45 minutes worth. So, in short, the issues seems to have gone away.

Okay, that's promising. Thanks for the follow-up. Hopefully that one is squashed.

FYI - the Autism Speaks ad is still giving me the BMW pop-up as of this morning.

I haven't seen it myself yet, so haven't been able to pull code from it to isolate the ad network. Hopefully because you saw it on your laptop I will see it eventually.

If anyone else sees it, if you could use Firebug (or something similar from another browser) to collect the network chain (the HTML for that ad), then I can have it squashed immediately.

App Store (iPhone) popping up in a few threads today.

Is it taking you to a specific app? And what ads are showing on the pages when this happens? One of them will be a common denominator and the likely culprit. If it's still the Autism Speaks PSA (which is still out there but I haven't received any actionable information or data about it yet) I'm likely to flip my lid.

Just got a streaming ad with audio for Eat'n'Park that played automatically (followed immediately by another with audio -- not sure what for) in the little ad box below my user name and statistics in the upper right page of the forum list. No scrolling over it or anything by me -- it was playing while I working in another tab.

I have an image that I can upload if needed.

I might have just found this one. Sending off the kill order.

I've got two of them, both with iPad with Chrome browser

First one I was reading the Parris Campbell Jr thread just now and got sent to the App Store for Injustice: Gods Among Us
I was able to copy the address....
The second one is just about every other time I go to 'Spy' the forum blacks out and I get the following ad...

Did you happen to catch what 'normal' ads were showing on the pages that launched that behavior? I'm guessing the one for the car is the hated Autism PSA. The App Store one has proven elusive so far though.

The assholes of the world really love to spew into the mobile devices -- they've figured out it's far harder to track those ads down.

No I didn't, but I'll pay attention to that next time it happens.

It's Autism Speaks -- that's been an ongoing and really frustrating source. I've managed to have it killed for PCs, but not for mobile devices. I need to figure out a way to have Firefox or Chrome spoof mobile platforms so I can find these ads and get the relevant network data through Firebug.

Unless we can tell what network is loading the ad, I'm not sure USAT is going to be able to help. Going to shoot off an email to them, but I have low expectations insofar as I can't give them anything to work with (beyond "Autism Speaks").
