Just had the scorecard survey popup while switching pages in the Penn St. forum. It disappeared before I could get a screenshot. I never used to have a problem with that, the ad blocker I use always stopped it. I use Chrome in Win7 HP. I also run Linux Ubuntu (13.10) and use Chrome there also.... I've never had it pop up in Linux.

2nd issue but not ad related.........I couldn't post this from any of my home computers in either Chrome or Firefox......Had to post from my phone. All other forums work fine. Scaned for malware and came up clean........maybe this topic just doesn't like me?:biggrin:

It let me edit the post from my laptop however............Now I'm confused!

The computer that won't let you post. Are you using IE11 on that?

If so, check out -> http://www.buckeyeplanet.com/forum/threads/cant-post-or-reply.632221/

That issue should go away when I upgrade us to XF 1.3.1

Re: Scorecard -- I chase them down, but it's a game one can't win. They aren't ads themselves, they improperly piggyback on valid ads. We're not supposed to get them at all, and some still sneak in. As soon as we knock one down, a new one shows up. >:(

The posting issue is in Chrome and Firefox, but it is only in this topic. Everywhere else on the site everything works fine. It's weird, I can't seem to post to this topic except from my phone ( on my home wireless network) but once I did post, I could edit it from any of my computers. Got me stumped!

I'm stumped as well. I wonder if an ad was interfering in some way, or maybe it was a bad or partial load, or perhaps some sort of locally stored/cached copies of a key .js or something was corrupted -- though that wouldn't explain why it's just this thread.

Yeah, gota believe it's something on my end. I'm going to go through everything here with a fine tooth comb. I just thought it was really strange that the issue was only in this thread, and that once I posted from my phone ( Chrome on Android 4.1.2) that I could jump on my laptop and edit the post. Must have a gremlin here somewhere, because I'm pretty sure I've posted in this topic before. Oh well.......I always love a good challenge!

Instant edit.........I just posted this from my laptop using Firefox in Linux. The plot thickens!

Last two times I've visited BP (in the last two weeks) on my iPhone I've been thrown into the iTunes App Store to download Candy Crush Saga. Not sure what ad is doing this, because once I leave the app store and get back into Safari BP reloads and I get different ads.

I've completely dropped the ad partner that I think is responsible for those Mark May ads. I want to break things when I see commercials for that game. Anyway, hopefully that will be the end of those once the old codes clear out of USATSMG's cache.

I have been increasingly getting more and more pop in adds when I go to different threads. I attached an example of a recent one today. Is this something on my side or BPs. I notice a lot of Target adds popping in as well...

@buckeyebri

That appears to be tied to your browser, based on position and the fact that it references a download manager of some sort.

There was a Prudential interstitial ad on the site for a few days, it's a rare load but it can cover the whole screen. I've already sent a squashmail to USAT and I *think* it's now gone.

Other than that, nothing is pinging my badad radar at the moment.

Prudential or Principal? I just got a full screen ad from Principal. I do have a screencap if that is needed.
