I feel sorry for Craft that his career had to end losing to a in-state school. Very nice comment by Vern Lundquist near the end of the game saying that of all the years he has, covered college basketball Craft epitomizes what a student athlete is all about.

Saying that, Craft really did not play very well the first half. Way too many turnovers. In fact, the whole team had way too many turnovers. It was probably the worst game that Ross has played since I do not know when. I think Ohio State was the better team but not today.

They just did not come out with much intensity and it was not until Matta called that timeout early in the second half that they finally started playing some defense. Matta probably should have gone to the smaller lineup earlier in the game because Williams and MacDonald did not bring anything to the game at all.

I think that Miller made a major blunder in the game by not inserting Kavanagh into their lineup when Ross had to guard their big man.

It was a lackluster effort by the Buckeyes but I guess Dayton just wanted the game a little bit more. Just sorry to see Craft's and Smith Jr.'s careers come to an end. It has been a very frustrating season but I would have liked to see them play Syracuse.

I went to OSU when our crowning achievement was winning the NIT. We won exactly 1 NCAA tournament game during my time as a student. As for the Rose Bowl, the Buckeyes never played in one during my tenure. We went 9-3, 9-3, 9-3, and 6-4-1.

Obviously, as fans we've become spoiled by success in recent years. I'm not complaining, just offering some perspective.

The foul on Scott was clear as day...I was watching it without sound and let out an expletive before I saw the foul was called. Just a really dumb play that was inexcusable, especially given the circumstance.

Just numb right now to lose in that fashion that last shot by Craft nearly went down. Just tough loss to take losing your last game is never easy but even harder in that fashion. You can't help to wonder how this season would have gone if Thomas would have stayed. Going to be strange watching this team without Craft next year.

The rest of the tourney today isn't going to be as much fun now watching after this game.

You're talking about a pre O'Brien era which was a long long time ago.
