They are both Frat boys. But McAfee is the frat boy that gets drunk off ass does some dumb shit. But everyone likes him and you know if shit went down he'll have your back.

Portnoy is the Frat boy that gets drunk all the time starts fights with everyone gets knocked out a few times. Keeps doing it and everyone starts pulling the other guy away and when it starts and just keeps going I know he's a jackass but it's not worth it. Basically Portnoy is their version of Kirk Barton

I don't know about all that, but Portnoy is just a business man ( actually up until now, a pretty decent one) who had a few years when he was in his 20's & 30's who just trolled and it succeeded as a website and social media that kind of had a cult like following. Now he is almost 50 and he isn't able to pull it off anymore, doesn't look comfortable, and only has the low hanging fruit that is the OSU football program, because rivalry.

He just has not been able to adjust his sports persona and it just doesn't work anymore.

Plus he has too many other things going on. Business commentary, and he is political. Both can be polarizing to some people, which is fine, but for his sports media company.

I think Hairball bumbled his way into a Cignetti situation (probably because of COVID), where starting in 21 he had a mature crop of players that were talented but not super stars so they stayed their entire tenure and were one of the oldest teams by the 23 season. Before that it was just a constant flow of mid, and it resumed with Moore after that.
