Just sayin': SAY WHAT!!!!..........

In a surprising twist, the Buckeyes are actually a semifinalist for the Joe Moore Award. That award is given to the best offensive line in the country every year. Never in a million years did any Ohio State fan think that it was possible they'd be a semifinalist for that award.

The OL has been exceptional under the circumstances, that is awesome to see. I am so damn proud of our OL stepping up.

We need more possessions. I guess it’s a compliment to our Offense that they are feared.

As much as I like the idea of sandwiching halftime with scores, I agree with whoever mentioned it might be better to take the ball first to avoid these 6-8 minute drives to start the game. If you can score first, there's more pressure on their opposing offense to answer instead of being content to sit on the ball. A lot of it falls to the defense, but I if your entire gameplan is to take the air out of the ball first and score 2nd, you'll be able to waste a lot of time and get 2-3 first downs before you fall behind the chains.

On an unrelated note, as long as he's healthy, I hope they start feeding Smith the ball more. Should be getting 10+ targets every game going forward.

10 targets sounds right he is a threat to score every time he touches it.

Our OL has come together nicely over the past 3 games basically dominating the 2nd half of each game. No penalties on the OL for the past three games. Red Zone efficiency is the best in CFB. I love the power T formation down near the end zone. Gotta think that Chip has some more plays coming out of that formation. As long as the OL stay on top of their game and Tre and Q are picking up 6-7 yds a pop, we should be good.

Don’t die on the running hill. JS is your smart bomb. Use it as much as possible.

Ohio State Shows Confidence in Carson Hinzman, Austin Siereveld with Quick Move to Name New Starters on Offensive Line

Ryan Day took a very different approach to naming new starters on the offensive line than the last time Ohio State had to reshuffle its front five during the week of a game against a top-five opponent.

Going into Ohio State’s game against Penn State three weeks ago, Day declined to confirm during his midweek media availabilities that Donovan Jackson would move to left tackle and that Carson Hinzman would move to left guard after the Buckeyes lost both Josh Simmons and Zen Michalski to injuries at LT. Day expressed then that the Buckeyes wanted to get through their week of practice before making any final decisions on what their new-look starting offensive line would look like against the Nittany Lions.

Day didn’t hesitate on naming new starters up front this time around, however, when yet another offensive line injury forced Ohio State to retool its front five again entering this week’s home game against No. 5 Indiana.

Just one day after Seth McLaughlin went down with a season-ending Achilles tear in practice, Day demonstrated his confidence in Hinzman and

Austin Siereveld by saying outright that Hinzman would move to center to replace McLaughlin while Siereveld will take Hinzman’s place in the lineup at left guard.

“Those guys were there today, had a very good practice, a very spirited practice,” Day said Wednesday. “So I’m excited for those guys to get in there and have a great game. It’s a great opportunity for those guys now. They’ve both played a lot of football. We’ve won a lot of games with Carson at center, and Austin's played.”

This game could seal the Ohio State football team winning the Joe Moore Award

The Ohio State football team has a chance to seal up winning the Joe Moore Award for the best offensive line in this game against Indiana.

The Ohio State football team has a big game this weekend. They take on an Indiana team that is ranked in the top five. The Hoosiers haven't lost a game yet this season. IU comes in off a bye week and is ready to show that they should be taken seriously as a CFP threat.

Ryan Day's Ohio State Buckeyes are tasked with making sure that doesn't happen. They have to do it without the services of Seth McLaughlin, who tore his Achilles during practice. Now, the Buckeyes have two starting offensive linemen who are out for the year.

Because of the newest injury up front, the Buckeyes now have to reshuffle the offensive line again. It will be Carson Hinzman at center and Austin Siereveld at left guard. Ohio State will need elite offensive line play. If they get it, their line could win a major award at the end of the year.

The Ohio State football team could seal Joe Moore Award with strong performance vs. IU

If the Buckeyes can push around the Hoosiers and win this game by at least double-digits, there's a good chance the offensive line can seal up the Joe Moore Award. That award is given to the best offensive line in the country. Ohio State has a chance to show their depth.

Ohio State has had a lot of different players start up front for them this season. If they can show the depth that they have, with all of the injuries they've had to deal with, no other team can match that. Ohio State has never won this award before and this would be a very surprising year to win it.

Wanted to bump for two young guys who are shaping up to be an absolute stud tandem, and that's Bennett Christian & Jelani Thurman. I was worried about our TE depth this year, next year, and beyond....but that's clearly no longer the case. You need one of your guys to emerge as a third TE, mostly a solid blocker, but these two have developed steadily all year and have crept up the snap count log. Love seeing us run more 12 personnel, I'm sure we'll see more of that Saturday, but what a 180 this position group has done so kudos to Keenan Bailey who has done a very admirable job and has proven to be a great developer of talent.
