2024 tOSU Offense Discussion

I'm loving the resurgence of the short to intermediate crossing routes. They seem to always get someone open for a minimum of 5 yards and sometimes turn into chunk plays like on Smith's first TD of the Rose Bowl
2 crossers and getting a 3rd guy to sit in the middle. If Howard can just move a little to let any of those studs get separation, it’s over.

Highly recommended 25 minute breakdown. Was a big fan of this guy before the Georgia game - gave the best assessment I had seen going into it. I remember him loving OSU players but his film had him lost for words on the coaching staff back then (remember this would have been after another loss to ttun).

Starts at 3 min mark.

Synopsis - Chip and Ryan are doing a good job of giving Will a “cheat sheet” with motions and formations, Buckeyes are executing and oh…Jeremiah Smith is a nightmare for D coordinators and shifts entire defenses, which should only get better after these last 2 performances.

If you want just one play.

This guy has me feeling even better about this team. The offenses coaches are putting in work.

Yeah i watched him a little when we plaid Georgia last time. Cause he's a Georgia guy but he does really good film break downs PFF has a good one too where they talk of the influences of where we picked up our run game in the playoffs.

pretty fun to watch his whole take... good stuff.

he does a great job breaking down the film. he really shows how absolutely disruptive it is for a defense, from a scheme perspective, to have jeremiah smith out there as a real threat that needs to be accounted for every second of every snap.

TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins Could Both Achieve 1,000-Yard Rushing Seasons During CFP Title Game

152946_h.jpg

That of course means the two-headed tailback monster of TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins will be called upon in some fashion to keep Notre Dame's defense honest. With that, both guys will have a shot to not only contribute to a national championship game victory but also make some history in the process.

Through 15 games, Henderson has 967 rushing yards while Judkins stands at 960, meaning TreVeyon needs 33 yards and Quinshon 40 for each to reach 1,000 yard rushing yards on the season.

If they can reach those markers, it'll be just the third time in Ohio State history that a pair of offensive players reached the 1,000-yard barrier in the same season.

Most recently, tailback Carlos Hyde (1,521) and quarterback Braxton Miller (1,068) accomplished the feat in 2013, while playing 11 and 12 games respectively that season. The only other time this happened in school annals - including the only instance it was done by two running backs - occurred in 1975 as Archie Griffin (1,450) and Pete Johnson (1,059) turned the trick while playing a 12-game season.

So, Judkins and Henderson both rushed for 1000+ yards.

Jeremiah Smith and Emeka Egbuka both had 1000+ yards receiving.

I’m waiting for the BTN stat that tells me if a college team ever had a pair of 1000-yard offensive pairs before,

Including Howard’s 4,000 yards passing, here’s the answer:

Only 2024 tOSU and 2018 Oklahoma have had a 4K passer, two 1k RBs, and two 1K receivers.
