As promised:

This is single-sourced info from a source I implicitly trust. At least a few high-dollar UM boosters have been pitched on increasing NIL contributions specifically to counteract "scholarship reductions and other potential sanctions" that could begin next year.

It appears their plan involves cash infusions to keep guys to stay thru the punishment period.

More importantly, this is the first real admission (to a select few) that they do expect sanctions severe enough to require countering.

Cool. So programs with rich boosters can openly cheat as long as those donors are willing to supplement the cost of the penalties from said cheating. That's a great message to send.

If the only punishment for doing something wrong is monetary, it’s not a punishment, it’s a cost of doing business.

If the NCAA really wanted to punish those cheating pricks, they would issue a 2-or-3 year ban to incoming transfers, due to Harbaugh’s cheating during the Covid period.

The bowl sanctions would really have an impact if they couldn’t buy transfer players for the same timeframe.

It‘s never going to happen, but I can dream.

That seems like one of those things that sounds good on paper, however, will the kids want to be in a program that is stagnant for a few years? Probably not....

Everybody is paying. There is no loyalty.

So them extending that fat dipshit isn't concerning to anyone else? How the fuck does everyone else have to fire everyone involved when caught by the ncaa and they hire a cheater as coach and extend the AD that is either corrupt or incompetent. Fuckin amazing
A combination of Manuel knowing where the bodies are buried and the school's obsession with presenting the farce that they can never do anything wrong and this is all a hatchet job because the ncaa hated Harbaugh. Sadly, I think the latter factor will be what saves Ono's jock-sniffing ass.

He is on the playoff selection committee. That's even more fucking absurd.
