Can Harvard of the east take any legal action anytime someone refers to *ichigan as "Harvard of the west"? I don't know anything about Harvard, but I'm guessing it's an insult to them, at this point.
I don't know, but Harvard was very late to the copyright game, and I used to have a t-shirt with the Harvard seal that said, "Harvard: The University Of Chicago Of The East"

I really don't know HOW it could happen. NIL has been a pandora's box that seems blown open forever. I'm not sure the NCAA could legislate that a single school's players are ineligible to receive NIL money... legally, that seems difficult.
NCAA is terrified of trying to enforce or regulate NIL. That's not going to happen. I could see a roster reduction of 10 spots though. And as someone else said, the "don't hurt these kids" argument is out the door with the portal.

No clue if accurate, but still am going to share.

Threw this together quickly, but should be mostly correct.

2015 - 10-3, 7-2 in B10 (31.4 ppg/16.4 oppg) - (L to MSU & OSU, beat Florida)

2016 - 10-3, 7-2 in B10 (40.3/14.1) - (L to OSU, then FSU in Orange Bowl)

2017 - 8-5, 5-4 in B10 (25.2/18.8) - (L to MSU, OSU, then S Car in Outback Bowl)

2018 - 10-3, 8-1 in B10 (35.2/19.4) - (L to OSU (23) and Florida (26) in Peach Bowl)

2019 - 9-4, 6-3 in B10 (31.7/20.7) - (L to OSU (29), then Alabama (19) in Citrus Bowl)

2020 - 2-4 (28.3/34.5) - (L to MSU, gutless and ducked OSU)
------
'15-'20 - 49-22 (32.01/20.65) 35-16 in B10 - 3-3 vs MSU, 0-6 vs OSU, 1-4 in bowl games

2021* -
12-2 (35.8/17.4) - (L to MSU, then Georgia in CFP)

2022* - 13-1 (40.4/16.1) - (L to TCU in CFP)

2023* - 15-0 (35.9/10.4)
------
'21-'23 - 40-3 (37.3/14.6) 29-1 in B10 - 2-1 vs MSU, 3-0 vs OSU, 2-2 in CFP (Hilarious that it still took them until year 3 of cheating to win a CFP game)

Their 3 loses were the 3 times they gave up more than 30 points. Those games included an RB that was constantly able to cutback due to over pursuit from the defense, a more talented and experienced team ready made to beat Harbaugh's style of play, and a team that gained knowledge of the extent of Michigan's sign stealing and was able to implement a new dummy sign system in the month leading up to the CFP game.

This is exactly it. They had knowledge of the cheating and allowed it to continue. WHILE ALREADY UNDER NCAA INVESTIGATION. They, at an absolute bare minimum should have told the coaches to shut down the sign stealing operation NOW. But nope. They decided they were just gonna try to race to the finish line before it was exposed. Zero integrity. They are, by any definition, the most corrupt program we've seen since the heydays of dirty/rogue CFB programs in the 1980's. Fielding Yost corruption over 100 years ago.

Death penalty? Is it warranted? I'd say given the size and scope of the operation, and the inaction of the school administration...if ever it was warranted, this, along with the ped aggy saga in 2011/12 are the cases for it. Unfortunately, the NCAA has said it is not something they will ever do again. However, they need to exact vengeance at a level that leaves their program crippled for years to come.

It's not quite accurate. From 2015-20, Simple Jim was 49-22. From 2021-23, Cheatin' Jim was 40-3. Worth noting, in the last 21 games across parts of 3 seasons prior to implementing their cheating, Simple Jim was 11-10, including 2 humiliating blowout losses to tOSU and had landed squarely on the hot seat.

Yep, you beat me to it. Harbaugh's first 2 teams were his best. In '15 they got hammered in the 2nd half against OSU, but otherwise lost close games to Utah (10-3) and MSU (12-2), then blew a decent Florida out in the bowl game. In '16 Harbaugh had his most complete team and they choked down the stretch, losing 3 games by a total of 5 points.

After that, the realities of recruiting and maintaining a roster hit, and he had one foot out the door thinking the NFL would come running. Reality smacked him in the face, he saw a future of roaming the sidelines at Louisiana Monroe or UMass until he died, and knew he had to make a change. So he begged his brother for coordinators and took on a psychopath who showed him how he could be perceived as a much better coach if he cheated.
