I don't know how many of the athletes were football players...if any. But you test rigorously and quarantine any positive cases, like they'd been doing for the rest of the season, like every other program in America was doing. And you damn well know that if those 9 players were all starters or even backups, they would have explicitly let the world know that. The fact that they refused to say how many were football players just proves they were full of shit. Some tennis and soccer players tested positive, and they used that as an excuse to duck The Game. They wanted no part of what Day and Fields had in store for them.
And I'm absolutely not defending them. My point was that if they want to die on the "we want to be safe about covid" hill, then die on it. Don't defend it only when it saves you from a beat-down, and then be turncoats to say that it was a dumb covid recruiting sanction. They should die on the hill or stay off it.
Actually, they should just die.
(The football program, I mean - not the people.)

Aaaaand if everyone recalls, they tried to fuck the Bucks out of a B1G Championship game appearance because The Game being cancelled left OSU with only 5 games played. The Conference had to change the rule they set in order for us to go to Indy. ( Sorry Hoosiers, you already lost to OSU )
Oh, I recall. I went to the Indiana fan forums (yes, they have a couple of forums), and expected to see a bunch of crying about it. I didn't see much. I saw more crying about it on Penn State forums and on *ichigan forums. Yes, I absolutely believe that Harbaugh was trying to keep Ohio State out of the championship game.
Maryland, maybe, too. They were the week before. Maryland cancelled the week before. Play that game, and it's a non-factor if *ichigan bitches out. If I were Ryan Day, Maryland is still on my shit list.

Ohio State football: Ex-Michigan staffer essentially calls Jim Harbaugh a liar

An ex-Michigan staffer is calling Jim Harbaugh out and claims he knew what he was doing committing recruiting violations.

The Ohio State football program has had a lot of fun this offseason watching Michigan get dragged for cheating. The Connor Stalions saga is something that's out of Hollywood and doesn't seem like a real cheating scandal. Then, there's the recruiting violations Michigan just got hammered for.

The Ohio State football team might be facing TTUN with a lot fewer staffers on the sidelines. We still don't know what the penalties are for the university itself. That will probably come sometime soon. Whatever they are, they will certainly be severe. The Stalions penalties are still coming too.

It's clear that Michigan's football program can only win when they cheat. If the last few years have taught us anything, it's that.

Just sayin': That sums it up pretty good.

They really are just daring the NCAA by continuing to make a complete mockery of all of this

Amazing. Just zero ability to read the room.

"hey guys, they haven't handed down penalties so let's really give them the middle finger. I bet that helps our cause"

Not a voice of reason with any of those A-holes responding to the piece.
