They won’t get left out with that scenario. If Indiana gets left out as a 1 loss team, with their only loss coming from the #2 team in the country, then the Big Ten should quit the whole system.

1. I agree. If Indiana gets left out as a 1 loss team, with their only loss coming from the #2 team in the country, then the Big Ten should quit the whole system.
1. I agree.
2. They aren't being left out this year, if they beat Purdue. This year. There's not enough teams to jump Indiana this year. Maybe another year there'll be teams with 2 losses that can pass Indiana. But it isn't happening this year.
But...but...Tennessee...and Auburn...almost Texas! Almost Texas has to count for something now!Indiana should be ahead of any team that lost to Arkansas
How would they have scheduled a "premier OOC game" given the timing of the PAC teams coming into the BIG ? Just like we did this year, oh wait we played a shit OOC schedule also ....Indiana will get lucky and likely get in. But the idea that if your only loss is to #2 then... isn't a valid argument.
They haven't played anybody. And that was obvious when the schedules came out. If there were a real contender, they would have scheduled a tough OOC team, but they didn't. Indiana deliberately didn't so they could run the table. And it worked out.
But it shouldn't. They shouldn't be rewarded for having a joke schedule.
OSU has a joke OOC schedule but they didn't need to have anybody else since they had Oregon, PSU, scUM
The best thing to happen would be for Indiana to get destroyed by 3 TDs in the opening round. And the committee will hopefully have learned their lesson.
You can only play the teams on your schedule and dominate them which Indiana largely did.Indiana will get lucky and likely get in. But the idea that if your only loss is to #2 then... isn't a valid argument.

Schedules are made by the teams.
Indiana has never scheduled a tough OOC opponent.
I do realize with shotgun realignment that they may not have had time to get a tougher OOC opponent.
And if you schedule a joke schedule, you should blow everybody out. I have no problem with them being knocked out because they stunk versus scUM.
And the whole point of having a committee is to realize they didn't dominant every opponent. Look at the box scores. Several were tight well into the second half.
This evening at 8PM, it's going to be 27 degrees in Columbus and 41 in Athens, GA. This time next month, the gap will probably be 5-10 degrees larger. SEC! schools and Sankey are going to do everything possible to keep them from going to Columbus, South Bend or Slapping Valley.
