One point I'd make, as it relates to the rest of the season.....I'm not on board with others who think this years remaining games are compromised because of the recordings already taken. Teams absolutely have the ability to switch up signals or even go away from signals altogether if that paranoid (it wasn't that long ago QB's would run to the sideline every play, or a player running onto the field as a sub, had the call to give to QB). That isn't ideal for Ohio State (who likes to push pace and get aligned quick but there are options.

Additionally, this isn't the first time OSU has dealt with an opponent it knows is stealing signs. How quickly we forget OSU's gameplan against Clemson to throw off Brent Veneables. We installed several plays and strategies to make it difficult for Clemson to check out of coverages, or not even be set for the play because OSU knew they'd be relaying signals to players on field. We caught them flat-footed 3 or 4 times.

I don't know if Clemson had an elaborate scheme going like Michigan or if they were just good at stealing signals from their sideline. I do think Michigan should face severe punishment including forfeited games, but I would not cancel the remainder of their season. I'd have someone from the Big 10 next to their coordinators throughout remainder of season and then go back and retroactively look at what games they recorded, who it impacted, and start revising the record books. Where Michigan is fucked, is that they are clearly violating a specific rule, in which electronics cannot be used to record signals. They got caught and I don't think they're going to have any ground to stand on once all the evidence is displayed.

I have to agree that moving forward this should be a nothing burger. Literally, any major teams that have their stuff together can completely change course. tOSU has the money and staff to easily get a new set of signs for that game. Hell you can just do what my wife's softball team she coaches does, just get arm bands. That eliminates all this stuff. For her it eliminated all miscommunication. It might actually help the defense.

Anyway, this is now out in the open and I just do not see how it is an issues anymore. If anything it should really help tOSU. For that matter since you know they are doing it, why even stop them. I would prefer to know they were doing it and them not know I did know and screw them.

And I’d be damn sure to print up a couple of arm bands that aren’t exactly the same as the others… and have one or two conveniently get lost during a play… all Mike Leach style.

If this is true, I don't think the Playoff Committee will look too kindly on Michigan. Anyone from the University of Tennessee on that committee? I would love them to be ranked 5th in the final voting even if they have a perfect record.
Any rumor involving Tennessee I take with a gigantic grain of salt....Those inbred fucks put tinfoil hats on when it comes to their beloved mountain goat fucking university before they roll out of bed.

Not directed at you.

Who the fuck cares if it’s true… all that is needed is for someone to believe it to be true. And I don’t think anyone is picky, could be a Vol or could be someone in Vegas…

At this point it’s past the whole “advantage” for Michigan thing. Yes they no longer should have that benefit.

But football is a gift. It’s a literal game that honestly is fun to play and Coach. You don’t reward this sort of behavior and that’s what it is if you allow them to play their games out.

Screw that man. I wish more people were mad about this. I’ve seen too many thinking (not either of you two btw) this just isn’t a big deal. Yet this is the most corrupt thing I think in sports history.

So in short I understand what you’re saying but I wholeheartedly disagree that they should be allowed to play one more play of football. You have to punish them for what they took from teams and giving them the opportunity to write their own ending IMO is a mistake.

Not sure I buy all of this but it's interesting.

Here is what's in the tweet, for those who don't have an account:

The Michigan story has taken a new turn: A recent article from @FootballScoop notes that Michigan may have “attempted to assist the opposition of a potential CFP opponent in an effort to disrupt that team’s potential path to Playoff.” It was released Tuesday that Michigan staffer Connor Stalions had purchased tickets to games outside the B1G, including Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, and Clemson.

Immediately following a 38-6 loss to Florida (who finished 6-7), South Carolina erased the Playoff hopes of Tennessee and Clemson in back-to-back weeks, sending them both to the Orange Bowl. Could this be who the article refers to? Against South Carolina last year before tearing his ACL, Tennessee QB Hendon Hooker went 25-42 passing (59.5%), his lowest completion percentage of any game last season (lowest of any game in his career in which he threw 35+ passes). Against South Carolina last year, Clemson QB DJ Uiagalelei went 9-28 passing (27.6%), the lowest completion percentage of any game of his career.

In 2014 while at VA Tech, Shane Beamer accepted leaked info on Wake Forest’s game plan prior to their matchup. He was fined $25,000 two years later when he was an assistant at Georgia. Additionally, South Carolina’s defensive coordinator Clayton White was on Jim Harbaugh’s defensive staff (DBs coach) for three years at Stanford (2007-2009).
