2023 Bowl Games Discussion

Looks like they have at least a decent tie in (ACC/ND vs Big 12)

CBS has Notre Dame vs Oklahoma State as the projected game.
Didn't they play in a bowl like 2-3 years ago?

Think it was the year you poached Knowles from Ok State and BK bailed on ND for LSU because the media was trying to suck off Freeman when they jumped out to an early lead and OK State ended up winning in an impressive come back.

You wanna play Louisville in a meaningless game and run the chance that without Harrison, Henderson, half the front end of the defense, with D Scott as the blocking tight end, you get beat? By a city college?

Contradiction.

If this game is so meaningless, then it amounts to an exhibition. Therefore losing really shouldn't be of any concern being that there's zero harm in a loss, no?

I don’t know about a few years ago, but they played Oregon State in a bowl game and got their ass kicked.

Losing the Orange Bowl to Louisville wouldn't be anything close to losing at home to FCS (at that time) App State.
Maybe to you, but it sure would to me and I believe many others. I’d much rather lose to K-State orUNC… BTW, I remember when Woody lost an early ooc game to UNC and reaction was much like Mich/Appy.

So, either you are misremembering or Buckeye Nation hasn't changed one bit. How can an FCS team, even one as successful as App St, compare to a major State school that is a founding member of the ACC.

Not to butt in, but Louisville has been in the ACC for about a decade.

Playing against, and potentially losing to, them will likely not be remembered by the time next season begins.

It's not like losing to USF or Memphis.

It's not like USF or Memphis you're right. Louisville conclusion is still a kick in the nuts to end this year though

At least Utah (another not so big name) looked like a legit team the 2nd half of the 2021 year we played them in the Rose Bowl. Louisville looks like one of the most meh 10 win P5s you'll see.

I understand when a team like the buckeyes have CFP hopes every year, anything but that will be a letdown.

Even if you played, say a “big name” like USC or Notre Dame but it was in a non-CFP game it would be a kick to the nuts.

It is hit or miss.

In 2018 I wasn’t expecting a playoff run but really hated having to play UCF that year (at least they beat Aubarn the year before 8D ) but that was a letdown matchup with nothing to gain (seemingly) and everything to lose.

But then Joe gets railed with a dirty hit and a switch went off. Obviously a lot more went into it than this, but I do believe something happened at that moment to pushed Joe to become who he became and is today.
