Typical DFBIA drooling over players measurables, even though they haven't really done anything actually on the field.

"no drop off"

Maryland, Ped State, Nebrasky and Sparty seemed equipped to hurt them. That secondary is going to be swiss cheese without those 2 pass rushers in the QBs face every play.

They don't have top of the line QBs by any means but they have enough to attack and hurt a weak secondary.

Their run defense is a question mark until proven otherwise too.

Welschof of course is Hutchinson 2.0

Morris is entering his 4th year, he was a generic 3* as a recruit and has 17 tackles and 0.5 sacks total.

Jaylen Harrell is coming into his 3rd season with a whopping 17 tackles and 0 sacks in his career

Only DFBIA can look at a cast of former low 4* and generic 3* who have shown nothing actually on the field and say "Yea thats a great defense"
Remember when they said Don Brown was the best DC in the country? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

They also seem to forget that they lost the coordinator who architected that defense last year.

I'm going to assume the guy from Vandy who nobody else really seemed to want is not just going to be plug and play same success.

Oh, so now it's unrealistic to expect 2 no name players to suddenly start dominating every season?!

It's not that they just expect unknown low rated recruits to dominate. Without question.

They also hold the attitude that no other team can possibly improve from last year. Ohio State's defense will be exactly the same and the exact same results will occur in the game no matter what in their minds. From comments by players so far the players same to think the same as well.

Bo Harbaugh

Given how loaded, experienced and deep our offense is projected to be, this is incredibly encouraging for the team's ceiling. I know athleticism does not always project to on field success, but given the culture and success established last year and hopefully a carry over of the Ravens defensive schemes into this year, really excited to see how this translates on the field.

One year out of 7 shows a "established culture of success"

Your daily dose of DFBIA stupid.

They are basically rooting for a QB controversy

The first three games should be an extended audition for who the starter will be when conference games begin. So have them alternating quarters in the first three games. Then against Maryland, they have whoever the leader is playing most of the game with the other getting a few drives. However, my realistic expectation is that it will be very similar to last season, with JJ getting 1 or 2 more drives per game.

This is the general consensus amongst them, this also almost never works out well. I don't doubt at all that Harbaugh would do something like this either.

I second this genius idea. They should probably work in a 3rd as well, and probably an RB to have access to a wildcat package.

Wonder if they have some walk on caliber QB they will swear is going to be a Wildcat weapon of terror. Like they were claiming with Dan Villari last year

McCarthy/McNamara this year is just screaming to be like a dollar general discount version of JT Barrett/Cardale Jones 2015. It won't work out as well for scUM though.
