Also anyone who claims Bowman is going to scUM to settle on being a backup is lying the themselves. He is absolutely right in the hunt to be the starter. Actually if he stays healthy i'd say he probably is the starter at least for the first game.

That says it all about the QB whisperers current QB room.

Oh , he's definitely the starter from day 1. The minute that Milton left Jimbo was looking for a veteran replacement. No way was he going into the season with 2 frosh QBs. This move is just another similar to getting O'Korn, Speight, etc. Getting an older average QB from a middling program and the DFBIA will lap it up. I'm waiting for them to make comparisons to Patrick Mahomes because they both went to Texas Tech...

It also should be a warning to potential incoming transfers if/when he loses his job. I'm sure he was promised to be the guy or else he wouldn't have chosen them. Let's see how long he gets to be the guy.

Or Bowman is the starter while McCarthy is groomed to be the starter as soon as possible then Bowman loses his job.
It's possible, but that could divide the locker room

Not sure how you promise a spot over a former 5star, and if that 5star wins the job in his Soph year, than what do you do with a pissed off Bowman?

Bowman seems like a more broken version of O'Korn to me.

This says more about McNamara than anything, clearly Harbaugh has very little faith in him to lead the ship until they think McCarthy is "ready"

The schedule sets up nicely for a false hyped up September, before it all comes crashing down @ Wisconsin on the first Saturday in October

Maybe. But they are both coming in at the same time so I'm not sure why there would be divided loyalty. And I guess the transfer would technically be the "new guy". And if their locker room doesn't simply want the best guy on the field then.... (don't mistake any of this as an argument for any level of success)
