I never knew that Harvard of the West had a graduate school of General Studies.
I sill always wonder how many of them know that the original location chosen for that God forsaken school was in what is now Downtown Toledo. Issues arising from the Ohio/*ichigan War forced the change to Whore Arbor. There is an Ohio Historical Marker near the Mud Hens stadium ( On Huron St. near the Bronze Boar) that details it. I love pointing out the fact to my one ( there's ALWAYS one) scumsucking friend that even Toledo didn't want them and kicked them to the curb whenever we go to a Hens game.

I've shown the numbers to support it before but they have averaged a 3+ loss season for something like the last 50 years and before any of their idiots say that's just because RR was so bad it hurt the average, the mode was something like 40 of the 50 years they had lost 3+.

I'd have to go dig it back up but, appropriate for their brand, if anyone of their fanbase thinks they have ever been a consistent NC caliber program (since the cessation of hostilities with the Japanese Empire) they are delusional.

I'll just take their word for it on how bad ass they were 90+ years ago.

I think I remember Joel Klatt talking about this stat on the Colin Cowherd show last year or the year before. He said that it baffled him how people thought scUM was ever on the level of OSU, Bama, or any of the powers of the last 20 or so years, because they're averaged 3-4 losses a year. And of course that miffed Cowherd who's been a staunch Hairball defender since his initial signing and now is at a fork in the road with Hairball's lack of success.

Maybe ‘still are’ was hinting at necrophilia in my original reply. I guess the joke was missed.

Not taking anything away from Sophia. Have always thought she was smok’n. Maybe still do.
I guess I missed that since Sophia’s still kicking and Jayne died in 1967 - and my personal considerations of necrophilia wane some time before the 50-year mark.

So just for starters, lets look at this century. '00 to '20 seasons, 21 years.

Total losses: 91
Loss per year: 4.3
Number of seasons with less than 3 losses: 1

Twice in the last 21 years have they been better than a 3+ loss team.

Twice

And one of those was a freshman Braxton Miller completion to a wide open WR away from not happening as well.

Looks like twice. 06 and 11.

my bad, edited it.

Now let's go all the way back to a post Bo look. 1990-2020 (31 seasons)

Total losses: 117
Avg L's: 3.77
# of less than 3: 6 (one of those was a 3 tie season)

so going back 31 years now, they manage to lose fewer than 3 games a year once every 5 years or so but they still average 3-4.
