2021 tOSU Offense

He's clearly not a runner.

What he is, is a 3,000+/30 TD/5 INT/67+% passer who came into the game with the 3rd highest QBR in CFB.

Today he went 31/38 for 361 yards and 5 TD/0INT's.

Between his inability to run and Smith-Njigba's poor blocking I don't know how this offense manages to score.

The Buckeyes showed great improvement in many of the key areas that had been slowing them down as of late. There are still problems to fix, especially on the defensive side of the ball, but overall, Ohio State can leave Saturday with more good than bad.

In Today's Three Key Stats, we look at the improved red zone play offensively, possible causes for concern on defense, and a dominant rushing attack from the Buckeyes.

We are going to have to hold form these last 3 weeks if we are going to get to the playoffs.

I expect the defense to perform better because the offenses will be more traditional but the offense will need to hold this pace for wins.

So, let me get this straight. You expect the defense to perform better these last 3 weeks. We just gave up 31 points, so you expect the D to hold the next 3 teams to under 30. The offense scored 59, and they will need to continue to hold that pace for tOSU to win. Did I miss something? I know my math skills may have deteriorated somewhat, but based on your statements about the defense the offense could slip to 30 ppg the last 3 weeks and still win. And no, I don't expect the offense to slip to 30 ppg.

Hard to say point wise.... for offense it's about continuing to have success scoring 7 and not 3. That's not to say we won't get stopped for a few punts.

Same for defense. I expect that we will do better. Which isn't hard to do after giving up 400 yards passing and 31 points.

Overall yeah I think we are 3 TDs better than both schools up north. I think the defense will play better and the offense to continue playing well.

Both games if we play our brand of football I think we win 42-21 kind of games.

I have to say though this year's GAME has me more anxious than normal. Their defense surprisingly hasn't given up much at all and if our offense is slowed down (Ped/Corn) combined with a bad defensive game (Oregon/Purdue) we could be in trouble.

I think the Vulverines are one-trick paper tigers this year. That said, I think we still need to be blooded before the playoff so that we know when we get there who we are and what we can overcome. They and Lite offer that opportunity.

The OL played great against Purdue too. Let's hope they are starting to peak at the right time to make a strong run through 5 more games for the Championship.

Just sayin': Hanging 100 on scUM could be signature game for Stroud and guarantee him a trip to Bristol in December for the awards ceremony, etc.
