but our DL was so absolutely underwhelming this year, it's hard to find new ways to keep saying it.

Yeah, the little tape I've seen is just plain brutal! Both lines, and the entire defense looked absolutely pathetic. Like a team expecting to walk through scUM and get a victory without earning it! You simply saw one team that WANTED to win on Saturday and another that EXPECTED to win

100%. Check the game thread. I was screaming for the freshman after the first quarter. No idea what the hell was going on but it likely wouldn't have mattered. We never showed up with any intensity the entire time

I've given a lot of (deserved) heat to Zach Harrison. But I forgot that A LOT of heat needs to be thrown at former 5star Taron Vincent's way! He has literally done nothing in S&G, I mean nothing! I've made more plays than he has! He's been able to ride on being a former 5star his entire tenure. I know he's been constantly injured, but we waited what seems like 20yrs for this kid to hit the field, and he looked like straight DOO DOO! He hasn't made one bit of difference this year. 17tkls and .5sk for an entire season, for a kid that was supposed to be an anchor/difference maker on defense! Like WTF! Absolutely unexpectable that the 2 highest rated recruits on this defense(Harrison and Vincent) made the least impact on this defense!

Yep. This is why a lot of us are questioning the coaching. One or two players not panning out could just be a lazy player..... but when a bunch of "Super Recruits" don't pan out you have to start looking elsewhere.

Or maybe we were extremely young this year and our coaching was terrible?

2018 we weren't terrible and that was with Bosa and Young. Then we get good coaching in 2019 and we were the best in the country.

Well, you can't have your LT get blasted like a too small for Oline high school player in your rivalry game. I'm pretty sure that's not scheme even though most of the scheme seems fucked too often for a CFP caliber team. Make no mistake, this is one of the 5 best teams in the country but for whatever reason they have moments of total ineptitude. Hard to explain that away very easily
