2021 CFB Playoff Discussion

I can picture it but I don't think they make it to The Game undefeated.

It's beginning to be difficult to list how flawed the team is, how bad the schedule has been and how wildly overrated they are by the media with any kind of succinctness.

My best attempt; 5.5 YPC teams that run it 50 times a game because they can't pass don't tend to do well in modern college football as soon as they play a team with a pulse.

Personally, I’d love for them to squeak by in a similar fashion to Oklahoma only to be destroyed by the good guys. Unfortunately, I have to agree… I smell their doom coming much sooner than that.

it is truly hilarious to watch people who know better strip the context from statistics in an attempt to make them say something they don’t

Dave Revsine of BTN was gushing about how few sacks TTUN has given up this year. Not a peep about the fact that only 13 teams in FBS have attempted fewer passes than they have

when you attempt that few passes, you have an advantage in that teams aren’t expecting the pass. That’s why several of the teams that have thrown fewer passes than them (notably the Academies and Coastal Carolina) are among the best in the country in passing efficiency. Even with this advantage, TTUN is ranked 55th in passing efficiency.

Yeah I don't think that's entirely the case. We rewarded the committee in 2014 with an outstanding run. After Sparty crapped the bed in 2015 vs Alabama I think there was fear that PED would do the same. Personally they had every reason to pick PED because they beat us but used that extra loss excuse.

Nobody has ever gone with 2 losses.
Again, we went over OU not over PSU. They eliminated themselves when they dropped 2 games.
Had we not played OU, or not beat OU, they would have gone instead of us.
PSU may have been the first also-ran, but they were never in consideration.

I'm guessing:

1. Georgia
2. Oklahoma
3. Alabama
4. Cincinnati
5. Ohio State
6. Michigan State

After we beat MSU, we'll pass Cincy if they dont lose first. Then I think it will come down to championship week results to who gets in if OU doesnt lose the week prior to Okie State.

That would be
1. Georgia
2. Alabama, until SECCG
3. Ohio State
4. Cincinnati or Oregon. Neither have a good schedule left and only maybe one hurdle each to get past.
The winner of the Bama/Georgia game will get the #1 seed. If it's Bama, they'll get the 1 seed, OSU 2 and UGA 3 (or reversed, dont matter) and who cares at 4 because they are in heaven with the opportunity to possibly get 2 SEC teams in the final should the Bucks not take care of their business.

So, there, you have the rest of the season panning out. No need to watch other for your own entertainment and to see the Bucks. The rest is useless posturing.

Based on Uncle Beano's eye test these would be your playoff teams if chosen today:

1. Georgia
2. Alabama
3. Oregon
4. Ohio State

I don't care that Cincinnati, Oklahoma, and Michigan State are undefeated. Vegas wouldn't either.

Seriously, that is correct. We ought to just let Lost Wages pick the Final Four: their money is where their mouth is.
