This makes more sense than any poll at the moment.
Klatt does also get to see the BiG and BigXII in person and has more sense than most voters do. Most people dont get to see UC actually play so they are harder to judge.I really believe the committee has become more sophisticated than won/loss and head-to-head.
They are looking at some of those sophisticated numbers folks are coming up with. Also how teams are trending. And certainly level of competition, for which you don't have a good picture until late in the season.
I think Klatt and Ord are pretty close, although Klatt has UM overrated due to level of competition and their obvious issues on offense. But that will sort itself out over the next five weeks.
Right now the debate is just a bunch of didily poo - which I dearly love (mostly the didily, not so much the poo).
Yup I could see this although I honestly wouldn’t be opposed to slotting Bama ahead of OSU off of the strength of their Ole Miss win. Their defense has shown they can slow down a very good, if not elite, offense while the Buckeye defense hasn’t come close to proving otherwise. Offensively they’re relatively close to the Buckeyes as well. OU however arguably shouldn’t even be in the Top 10.I'd probably bump the juggalos into fourth. Their ND win is better than anything tsun or OU has. Plus, they're a pretty complete team. tsun and ou are both deeply flawed in one way or another.
My top four, right now, would be:
- UGA
- Ohio State
- Bama
- Juggalo
I agree completely with this statement. After all, the great majority of bowl games are played within the S-E-C!! and the Big 12 footprint, with most of those in the S-E-C!! footprint. How much more neutral can you get than that? Making it much more accessible for 1 fanbase at the game than the other screams neutrality.Bowl organization wants all games in expanded College Football Playoff played at bowl sites
Bowl Season has a vested interest in ensuring that bowl games remain valued in playoff expansion
The non-profit organization Bowl Season that represents the 43 postseason bowl games has asked the College Football Playoff that all games in an expanded playoff be played entirely within the bowl system. In addition, the organization has asked for a spot at the table in further CFP discussion.
In a letter dated Monday and obtained by CBS Sports that went out to the 130 FBS presidents, athletic directors, coaches and 10 FBS commissioners, the organization stated:
"An expanded playoff should include all playoff games being played within the traditional Bowl structure, not the home site of one of the participating teams. The Bowls would provide a neutral, competitively fair setting for these games as they have throughout their history."
As currently proposed, a 12-team playoff would include four first-round play-in games for eight teams at campus sites. The next two rounds in the quarterfinals and finals would be played at bowl sites. Those sites would presumably be the current New Year's Six bowls – Cotton, Fiesta, Orange, Peach and Rose -- though the specific sites have yet to be officially determined.

"Eye test" season is about to begin. Get ready to hear it used often when a talking head can't articulate why he believes Team A is better than Team B.
Except for “head-to-head matters” when tOSU and Oregon are involved, I’ve already heard that this week. Its going to be hilarious if UGA beats Bama in the SECCG, there will be a talking head lobby for a 2 loss non SEC champ Bama in the playoff. "THEY RAN INTO A BUZZSAW UGA TEAM, LOOK AT THE EYE TEST THE REST OF THE YEAR!" "HOW CAN WE DROP THEM OUT FOR LOSING TO THE #1 TEAM!"
Eye test being SEC SEC SEC!
Meanwhile, in crazytown. I also like how they seed Ohio State 9th in their fantasy expanded playoff.

My dream scenario is for things to break right and for us to draw Oregon or Iowa to open the playoffs this year.
That would be magical...if we end up in the 2/3 game and avoid Georgia/Alabama or OSU in Round 1 I will be THRILLED
It's obviously still way early, but it feels like it's trending toward those being the other three teams - I'm thinking a 2-loss Alabama still gets in over a 1-loss Oklahoma or any 1-loss ACC team, but Oregon would have to lose too.
Alabama is mortal this year. As a matter of fact, of all the teams being bantered about in the CFP scenarios, UC and Georgia are the two MOST solid teams; ALL the other ones have a glaring weakness or two. Alabama seems to lack depth and just doesn't have the same "driven" mentality this year, Ohio State has a glaring lack of defense, Oklahoma's Defense is almost non-existent and the have had QB issues, Oregon has been wildly inconsistent and has shown weakness in their Defense, Iowa has had an anemic Offense and a porous defense.
UC's one glaring issue has been our lack of a consistent PK. That's it. We have shown some inconsistency but have not had to "dig out" of any huge holes. (Have we even been behind by more than a score this entire season?) Our Defense matches our Offense's big-play capability, especially our secondary which many commentators are calling "The Best" in college football...period. God forbid we should actually "click" on both sides of the ball at the same time.
All that has to happen is for everything to click-into-place and this team is eminently capable of beating Georgia, Alabama, or Ohio State by a decisive margin. Even playing "out-of-sorts," we can take Georgia down the stretch.
Yes, we have to "get there" first, but assuming we do, there's not another team outside of Georgia that has the complete package we do.
