2021-2022 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Totally agree. Always get scared when our team gets down to a 6-man rotation headed in to the postseason.

We still get to add Sueing and Towns this season too.
I have no inside info but I do not think we will see Towns this season. He has been out too long and I think the surgery that he had is not something that is conducive to playing basketball again. Sueing, maybe, but I also think it is going to be a while.

The Buckeyes got everyone back from their COVID pause but were without Kyle Young as he dealt with what a team spokesman said is a different illness.

Holtmann said he’s likely to play against the Hoosiers on Thursday.

“I don’t think this is going to be a long-term thing by any stretch,” the coach said. “We expect it to be pretty short-term.”

I do not think anyone knows including Holtmann. If they ever can get him fixed physically in the next couple weeks, he still would have his stamina to build up for to play in actual Big Ten games not practice. Still has really not come out what is physically wrong with him unless I missed it somewhere.
Says here some type of abdominal injury

I took a look at OSU's home schedule ... woof. The B1G could have barely made it weaker if they tried. If only they had put Rutgers on there instead of MSU, they would have given OSU home games with all of the worst teams in the league and none of the best. Right now, obviously things will change, but at the moment OSU has only 1 home game with a ranked team after Christmas. Ugly.

The Buckeyes have scheduled a game to replace one of the three they lost due to their COVID pause. Ohio State will host an as-yet unnamed opponent Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. in a game to be televised on the Big Ten Network.

“It’s great for the program; it’s great for our fans,” Netti said. “I think our guys too that have been in this pause, even some guys getting healthier, to play another game, it’s needed. We’re excited about it.”

It’s unlikely to see the Buckeyes add another game to replace the second home game that was lost unless there is a Big Ten cancellation, Holtmann said.

As special assistant to the head coach, Mike Netti has been around the program and the game planning process since Holtmann came to Ohio State. Sunday, he was making offensive calls and helping direct the Buckeyes at that end of the court.

“Really, the ability to deliver calling the game was different,” he said. “Usually on the bench I can give suggestions to coach and to Pedon. Yesterday it was, make some decisionw. What’s the feel? What’s the flow? Our players embraced it. I let them know thank you, you let me coach the game.

“Those guys are completely selfless. They trust the process. They trust us coaches. I think the culture helps us win games, and the guys we bring into the culture makes the thing move.”
