2021-2022 Ohio State Men's Basketball

Given the NC head coach position opening up, was heartened to see that Holtmann was not going to be a prime candidate to replace Roy Williams. Believe that he will continue to grow tOSU basketball team, and attract better and better players. Wish Oden was still sitting on the bench as a coach, that might attract more 'bigs' to the team. Hope they pick the Zags coach to head NC, as then mayhaps the big that has tOSU and Gonzaga in his final two (?) might go towards the Buckeyes. That could be the missing piece. Although I get why the transfer portal is a good thing, and that tOSU has profited, I'd rather see players commit out of HS, stay for 3 or 4 years, than do a graduate one-and-done. Go Bucks!

The Ohio State men’s basketball team enters the 2021-22 season as a top-20 team according to Lindy’s annual preseason magazine, but the Buckeyes are not projected to go far in the NCAA Tournament.

Although the Buckeyes are picked third in the Big Ten, Lindy’s stops short of projecting a Sweet Sixteen birth in coach Chris Holtmann’s fifth season with the program. Athlon Sports, in its preseason magazine, does predict a Sweet Sixteen run for the Buckeyes.

I wish DWJ was still at tOSU instead of playing for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, but that's basketball and kids need to chase their dreams.

I hope the best for him, but think he could've benefitted from another season of college hoops. Happy that EJ and KY chose to stick around.

Updates on Kyle Young

Given the strangeness of suffering two concussions, both caused by freak contact to the head, in quick succession, Young took time to recover but says he’s good to go heading into the new season.

“It was something relatively new to me,” the forward admitted. “I didn’t really know what it was going to feel like, stuff like that and it kind of took me by surprise how serious it was. Concussions are nothing to play with. I’m all good, healed up, healthy now and just want to build off that.”

and Meechie Johnson

“I had a little injury the past two weeks I was dealing with, nothing major,” he said. “I feel great. It was a precautionary thing. I played through it all of last year, all summer. It was just like, Coach said they’re going to need me this year to be a bigger impact and a role for the team. So it’s best to get to treat it now, do what I can now, attack it so it don’t linger throughout the season and now I’m missing time this season. So it was nothing crazy.”

too.
