So UCF is preparing to officially claim a national championship in 2017 and their AD is evidently trying to extend an offer to the winner of Monday's game to play. :lol:

This is glorious and I sincerely hope the AP poll goes split, especially if Bama wins it, because all the salt coming from them will be delicious irony given their claiming of titles. I'm definitely up for buying a UCF National Champs shirt.

Bama did this around the time Frost hit Elementary School.
So how did an SID from the Ray Perkins era -- a period with zero SEC titles, much less any national titles -- shape such a core belief that many Alabama supporters today accept as gospel?

"I've talked to university officials about it. You're about the first reporter to ever ask me about it," said Atcheson, Alabama's SID from 1983 to '87 and later associate director of the Tide Pride donor program.

"I want to say the right thing here. I made the change because Coach Bryant had these 25 years and six national championships and they were emphasized so much. It was on all the stationery. And when I got there, it was a matter of seeing there were five others (before Bryant) and we should put them all together. It was as simple as that."

I'm on UCF's side. I think they should have gotten in over bama or us. This year has made me support an 8 team playoff that includes 1 mid major.

I guess it's just that the NC banner just reeks of Paterno and his fake NC ceremonies and fake NC rings.

Good for them.. As they should. They'll never get accepted into a big conference, they'll never get the respect needed to get into the playoffs, and as such they'll never win one out right. So go ahead UCF and claim that Natty just like these "big boy" schools did for the early years.

The committee has the balls to say "well UCF didn't schedule or beat anyone"... hahahahaha and Alabama did? They both played one FCS school and personally do you think MSU bulldogs would beat Memphis? I sure don't.

The committee uses whatever metric they want to validate their decisions based on certain scenario's or situations. So with that being the case how the hell can we continue on with this system? Maybe UCF would've beat Clemson though but we'll never know because they were never given that chance.

We need to go to a system like every other division of football but we'll NEVER do that because of the lost revenue from playing less regular season games.

This isn't a banner for a pretty decent year, or a rail plaque, or making rings because they beat Temple and BC.

This is recognizing an undefeated team who beat a "mighty" SEC team (the one who beat both teams in the so called NC game) that many will say got shafted out of the CFP in order to give Saban another chance for a ring.

I will buy a t-shirt that says "Real National Champion UCF" if they decided to make one.

This is the 2nd damn time Alabama is playing for a national championship when it should have been OSU (2012 as well). Unbelievable the luck they have at our expense

Why not? They legitimately went undefeated and never given a chance to play ... the 2 teams in the mythical NCG couldn't beat Auburn (repeats are a joke - and still, the aggregate is Auburn)
15 years ago nobody would have blinked an eye... but because we have a farcical system that still doesn't let them settle it on the field, it's cheesy?
