well it shall certainly be interesting to see how some of this chaos plays out in the new rankings

  1. UGA L bad
  2. Bama W
  3. ND L bad
  4. Clemson W
  5. OU W Big over #6
  6. TCU L bad
  7. Miami W big over #3
  8. Wisky W big
  9. Washington L
  10. Auburn W big over #1
  11. USC W vs nobody
  12. tsun State L big
  13. OSU W big over #12

My guess:
  1. Bama
  2. OU
  3. Clemson
  4. Miami
  5. Wisky
  6. UGA
  7. Auburn (SEC bro)
  8. ND
  9. OSU
  10. USC
Who knows but the important thing is OSU getting ahead of USC and having a better potential win left on the schedule than USC because:

  1. SEC Champ
  2. OU (assuming they don't get beat in the rematch with TCU)
  3. ACC champ
  4. B1G or PAC 12

We have a very slim chance but if we are at #9 then the following may happen. Bama beats both Auburn and Georgia. We move up two spots. ACC champ game either Miami or Clemson is out. OSU up one more spot. Stanford beats ND and we beat Whisky badly. That would give us a shot but we will have to take care of business first. That would at least get us in the discussion.

Wisky staying up there is key

they must beat tsun next week

I agree; however, I think an even "bigger key" is Alabama needs to beat Georgia in SEC Championship Game. The CFP 4th spot needs to be available for the B1G or PAC-12 winner. You don't want the committee to pick 2 SEC teams. If a 11-1 Georgia team beat a 12-0 Alabama team in the SEC Championship Game I could see easily both teams getting in with each having only 1 loss. That would all but eliminate the PAC-12 winner and/or Ohio State (if they won out) from the playoffs. "Plan B" would be for Alabama to lose to both Auburn and Georgia (in the SEC Championship) effectively knocking Alabama out of the top 4 CFP ranking and I really don't see that happening.

It's crazy, but we are very much in this thing. Today was a big day.

I could see pretty much any 1 loss Power 5 team getting in over us, except Wisconsin if we beat them since they've played literally nobody all year.

At this point we want:

1) Bama to win out
2) Miami to win out
3) Oklahoma to win out, OR lose to both WVU and Big 12 title game opponent
4) Wisconsin to win out until the B1G title game (this is just a bonus)

We actually have a pretty good shot. It's not all that unlikely. Basically, we need Bama to beat Georgia and Miami to beat Clemson. If that happens, and we take care of our business...

It looks like things are laying out for us, but like Script said, it's still possible for two SEC teams (and I would even wager it's still possible for two ACC teams) depending on how they look. I mean, if Auburn beats Bama, then Bama beats Georgia, you could even argue Auburn gets in. There are a few two-loss teams that would be ahead of us, but you never know....it's laying out like we'll need a fifty-pointer against Bucky to make the convincing argument. I'm fine with us not making it this year....

Teams that could make it ahead of us, realistically:

Bama/Auburn/Georgia
OK
Miami/Clemson

You're getting three of those teams. Not unreasonable you get 4, even with us whipping Bucky.

ND, Georgia, and TCU losses, combined with Wisconsin beating mighty, mighty Iowa, means Wisconsin probably slides from #8 up to #5 in the CFP picture. Clemson & Miami still have to play each other, which leaves Wisconsin a clear path to #4. Oh ... but what if Wisconsin gets boat raced 59-0 in the Big Ten championship game?

This ain't over.

I think it would take a Clemson loss, if Miami loses to Clemson they’re still a 1 loss. Would need Clemson to get beat which leaves Bama and Miami unbeaten. Also I think Wisconsinnlosing to scUM next weekend, then winning the week after. We beat scUM(and not even close) then take care of Wisconsin. Not sure how they would treat a 1 loss Wisconsin if we beat them considering they haven’t been generous to them so far.
