He was probably just talking about rushing, cuz Bama actually did run for at 10th best 265.3 and the Buckeyes just ran for 249.4 ... good for 15th

This is what pisses me off. Just say the committee valued not losing over more quality wins, and they thought Alabama passed the eye test somehow. Don't sit here and try to say well Alabama is statistically better or that you value conference championships and playing a tough schedule because that just isn't true obviously

Yeah Holcutt is embarrassing himself. He's going to have a not pretty conversation with Delaney after tonight where his so called "facts" are going to be ripped to shreds.

Yeah I have a far bigger problem that it was Bama and how they are explaining it then that we are out. Say 31 point loss and eye test and people are like ok it was close we can believe that. This trying to tear down Ohio State to make it sound like it was a stupidly obvious answer and all their metrics back it up is a joke and he needs to stop as he's losing any sense of credibility the committee had.

Let's switch positions here for.the sake of argument. Let's say Alabama just wrapped.up an 11-2 season winning the SEC. However, they took a 15 point home loss in September to a top five team, and got murdered at Mississippi State 55-24 in early November. tOSU, on the other hand, just went 11-1 but didn't win the B1G or its division (sound familiar?). The B1G was a bit down this year, so our best win is against a #15 Sparty team, and we lost a close game to a top-5 Ped Aggy.

Given the hypothetical scenario above, how many here would be upset if that 11-2 Bammer team that lost at home by double digits early on, and was pantsed by a mediocre Mississippi State was selected over 11-1, non conference champ Ohio State?

I'm not happy that we weren't selected, but I certainly can't argue against it.

If Bama gets their heart torn out by Clemson it will be a silver lining to the whole thing. That state has somehow managed stoop lower than sister fucking to now being pedophile apologists so I couldn't think of a more deserving outcome.

If Georgia also gets dick whipped by OU then SEC will be tarnished like crazy. If they get double the odds and lay an egg all that's left is to admit the SEC is overrated as all hell.

If either of them shit the bed it will make the committe look pretty silly taking 2 SEC teams. Either way they are in a bad spot. Their safest play would have been to take USC.

Honestly, to me it's as simple as this. Based on the eye test, even if Alabama isn't that great the committee can probably trust them to not embarrass them for choosing them by completely shitting the bed and killing themselves with idiotic mistakes like blown coverages, stupid penalties, and horrifically incomprehensible turnovers. I can't say the same for OSU, even if OSU's ceiling may well be higher than 'Bama's, and if I can't then I don't see why the committee would.

This team made its own bed and can lie in it. How they respond for the bowl game will play a very large part in determining their legacy, at least to me.

That said, while I'm disgusted by their on-field stupidity and inconsistency, I'm impressed by their resilience and proud and pleased that they won the conference, beat the rival (again) and the other three usual conference thorns in the side as well.

So if 2015 Iowa would have won the championship? It's bad when 75% of Bama's argument relies on being Bama and 25% on a bad loss invalidating 3 better wins

I'd much rather see a pre-determimed and transparent bcs type formula than this smoke-filled room bullshit.
