2017 CFB Bowl Games Open Thread

Last year, I think, one of the moderators made a player by player graph comparing OSU and Michigan by player recruiting rankings. I was curious so I did the same for OSU vs Alabama. Let’s just say the results were eye opening.

Not sure how the 247 criteria work but there was a significant difference when I did mine
Perhaps you did it off of a specific website instead of 247 which averages out multiple sites? Or more likely if you did it last year maybe you didn't include the 2017 recruiting class which was better for OSU than Bama (even though Bama was #1 due to number of bodies).

I did. Up by 17 the entire 2nd half and a coaching staff that saw that their DL was dominating the game made the decision to tresselball the entire second half unless USC showed life offensively. Sorry if you didn't identify that's what was going on. Take a look at the play-by-play and boxscore. OSU passed the ball 17 times and ran it 38 times. I'd be interested to see what that split was in the 2nd half only.

Sure, we played ball control in the 2nd half. But in the 1st half when our game plan was open, we again only scored 3 points that were not off a short field secondary to a turnover.

And it’s not like this is a new development - our O struggled all season. I’m guessing you watched the Oklahoma and Iowa games. I don’t see where this newfound confidence in our offense is coming from, given the fact that they were thoroughly mediocre all season against every decent team (except MSU)

Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold for all their faults are 1000x the QB's Kelky Bryant is. Kelly Bryant at least this year isn't in their stratusphere nor is he even close to Watson despite the pundits trying to tell us otherwise.

Watson was the reason Clemson won last year. Bryant is a very young QB playing like a deer in the headlights in this game. They could get away with it in ACC play but Bama is a different animal when theyre bringing the heat.

Comparing scores can be fun ie the U blowing out ND, Auburn blowing out GA, ND blowing out Southern Cal and of course Iowa blowing out the Buckeyes signifying 2017 in a nutshell.

Let's go back to 2014, shall we:

Breaking ...

ttun seriously considering leaving the B1G for the MAC. Only obstacle appears to be the MAC commissioner worrying about whether ttun is a MAC caliber program. Stay tuned!

Doesn’t Clemson have the #1pro style from last year and this year? “Thanks for leading us to the playoffs. He’s the bench or the door”
