The Sooner defense I saw against Georgia would have had a hell of a time stopping Harris, Scarborough, and Harris Jr from running for a hundred a piece. Hurts could have thrown for 40 yards and still won by 2+ TDs.If they called a proper third down play to qualify for the bama game, I like their chances of burying Bama's half a team in deep enough of a hole to prevent a freshman comeback.
Re: 2012 what about the Buckeyes that year screams possible National Champion ?!?
Like Iowa against Ohio State. Oh wait! It's amazing what a good team can do when given a shot.
Maybe because they always win, except 2014 when the stars aligned for Ohio State, much like 2002.That's the issue. Bama is always given the opportunity.
I'll ask again: how many losses does Alabama need to have next year before you would no longer allow them to grace the CFP with their presence?Like Iowa against Ohio State. Oh wait!

And maybe 'bama is always given the opportunity because Saban is the best coach and always has the top recruits and a top 2 or 3 team. Saban's team never gets embarrassed like Ohio State, ND, the U, Georgia, Clemson, Southern Cal, Auburn did in 2017.
Yes, the past couple years they played a cupcake schedule, much like the Buckeye's did in 2002.
Alabama 2018 scheduleI'll ask again: how many losses does Alabama need to have next year before you would no longer allow them to grace the CFP with their presence?
Why though?Alabama 2018 schedule
Sept. 1 vs. Louisville (Orlando)
Sept. 8 vs. Arkansas State
Sept. 15: at Ole Miss
Sept. 22: Texas A&M at Alabama
Sept. 29: vs Louisiana-Lafayette
Oct. 6: at Arkansas
Oct. 13: vs. Missouri
Oct. 20: at Tennessee
Oct. 27: bye
Nov. 3: at LSU
Nov. 10: vs. Mississippi State
Nov. 17: vs The Citadel
Nov. 24: vs. Auburn
I'll go with ANY. I'm telling you if tOSU was treated as well by the BIG we'd be there too.
Why though?
It's Alabama. They have a legendary coach who never loses. They have top recruiting classes every year. Who cares what happens during the season? They're the best. They're the only team in the country that can beat anyone.
Just let them in right now. They deserve the benefit of the doubt.

It's what they do...it's usually in case Bama loses to LSU..gives them a recovery week. It's a fucking joke.Oh boy! Citadel in the middle of November! What a test!

As one who has already posted their beyond lame 2018 schedule a couple times, unfortunately the powers that be do not call me for my opinion, but the AP, coaches, CFP committee all picked 'bama ahead of the Buckeyes. And read somewhere the CFP final vote was 8-1 Alabama for the 4th position.I'll ask again: how many losses does Alabama need to have next year before you would no longer allow them to grace the CFP with their presence?
They've played an FCS team the week before the Iron Bowl every year since 2009.IMO, if you’re going to play an FCS team (I don’t think any power 5, let alone a team like Alabama should be), do it in August/September. Giving a Power 5 team essentially an extra bye week in November by playing a sacrificial lamb is weak and should be taken into account when considering playoff teams.
