Anyone else reminded of the later Randy Ayers years? Highly rated recruiting class, 'Killer" Macon, etc. that when was all said and done had all five wash out and tOSU finished in the dumpster. This is after Jimmy Jackson led an Ayers team to final four. Eerily similar, methinks. Ayers was fired, and ship got righted. Cannot blame Thad for Lyle punching a cop car, but for what he's making in salary, someone has to be held accountible, don't they? Whew, cannot go any lower. Come on Gene, earn YOUR money. Thad will rebound and go somewhere else and shine, but it's not here, anymore. Go Bucks

I've never actually lit a dumpster or garbage can on fire before, but I'm going to guess it looks like the current state of the program.

If Kam doesn't come back, there are currently eight scholarship players on the roster.

If I ever get busted for something and I know I'm going to go to jail, I'm going to light a dumpster on fire.

I think everyone nailed it already but this is just absolutely ridiculous. It really appeared that the 2015 class was going to be what turned it around for OSU and put us back near the top (Lyle, Giddens, Grandstaff, Harris and Mitchell)...quite the opposite has happened with not a single player from that class left on our roster and a woeful swing and miss on each one. As mentioned, can't blame Matta for Lyle being an idiot and frankly his attitude was piss-poor anyways. That being said, he was going to be a key contributor on the team next year, mostly because the team will be awful. Nonetheless, this just keeps getting worse than you could imagine it ever being here and I am just scratching my head on just wtf Gene Smith was ever thinking here.

How often does one recruiting class absolutely sink a program and torpedo a once beloved coach? Because, holy cow, that class was an ICBM right to the heart of this program.

We might legit be the worst team in the B1G next year.

This is probably the last big hire Gene Smith will make in his Ohio State AD career, outside of maybe baseball.

I hope he and the administration gets it correct. It's kinda hit-and-miss, but most collegiate athletic departments are like that, as with most organizations.

I thought Lyle was lazy on defense and careless on offense, but I also don't like going into a season with such a lack of scholarship players. It's almost like re-starting a program.
