Anyway, first game Friday at 7pm vs. Robert Morris

Buddy played on the team about 7 years ago that almost upset #2 Villanova as a #15. Blocked the game winning layup in regulation, but they lost in OT.

Don’t think the team is much anymore, but I don’t know.

My brother played center for them -- got blocked by Ken Johnson like 4 times. Only time I ever rooted against OSU.

I always will have a soft spot for Dan Dakich, because he drove Ron Lewis to transfer from BG.

Andrew Dakich, not gonna lie, found him annoying at UM. Hopefully his antics on the bench will not annoy me anymore. But at least he gives them another practice body. Hopefully he is not relied on much in games, or else OSU is in big trouble.

ACROSS ENEMY LINES: MICHIGAN GRADUATE ANDREW DAKICH EXCITED FOR OPPORTUNITY WITH OHIO STATE BASKETBALL

Ohio State graduate transfer Andrew Dakich is happy to talk about the first four years of his college basketball career.

He just isn’t allowed to say the name of the school where he came from.

One of seven newcomers on this year’s Ohio State basketball team, Dakich is set to suit up this season for the Buckeyes – who begin their season on Friday against Robert Morris – after spending the last four years playing for Ohio State’s biggest rival: Michigan, or as they say in Columbus, "The Team Up North."

"The first time I put on the Buckeye uniform, it was a little different," Dakich said at the Buckeyes’ preseason media day. "I think that’s when it really hit that I was actually an Ohio State Buckeye. It’s been a lot of fun, though, getting to know these guys. I’ve watched and played against a few of these guys growing up, even in the Big Ten from years past, but it’s been an easy transition, that’s for sure."

A 6-foot-2 guard from Zionsville, Indiana, who originally walked on at Michigan, Dakich didn’t see much playing time in his four years with the Wolverines. He played only two minutes per game as a freshman in 2013-14, 5.3 minutes per game as a sophomore in 2014-15 and 4.6 minutes as a junior in 2015-16 before redshirting last season in order to preserve his eligibility for a graduate transfer season.

At Ohio State this season, however, Dakich has a real chance to see more legitimate playing time. On a roster that includes only seven returning veterans, Dakich is expected to see rotational minutes off the bench at point guard.

"He's obviously got experience playing, and we brought him in with the expectation that he's going to have to give us some depth at that position," said Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann, who is also entering his first season with the Buckeyes. "He's elevated our competitiveness in practice, which has been a good thing."

some thoughts after watching the robert morris game:

1. i'm not expecting that jallow will move into a starting role by season's end, but i will be shocked if he doesn't get starter's minutes. musa brings to the team something that no one else does: elite athleticism. no other perimeter player can blow by defenders, and i doubt another player can get his head closer to the rim. i also doubt a teammate can get baseline to baseline faster. if jallow can make a jumper with any type of consistency, then kam better watch out.

2. dakich is better than i thought, but i'm not sure i'd call him "good." he appears serviceable, though, and that's likely good enough. it's just too bad he won't score.

3. potter may be improved on offense. he may not. we'll see. unfortunately, early returns are that his defense is still woeful. i do not at all trust him as a help-side defender, and he appears only marginally better than amir williams as a rebounder in traffic.

4. as i stated before, i think kaleb will determine how many minutes kaleb gets. if he learns how not to foul so much and/or potter doesn't prove to be a reliable threat beyond the arc, then big wesson will get big minutes.

5. kbd projects to have an outstanding season. i think ho1tmann's best offense-defense wing trio will easily be jallow, tate, and kbd. throw in kaleb at the 5 and there may be enough to scare some good teams.

6. it's good that andre is already getting minutes. i was worried that he was left behind.

7. jackson better shoot like he did after january last season.
