2016 CFB Week 11 Thread

We had one loss and watched the B1G title game last year. How did that turn out?
Last year, there were four conference champs with zero or one loss: Clemson (0 losses); Alabama (1 loss); Michigan State (1 loss); Oklahoma (1 loss).

If Penn State and Wisconsin win their respective divisions, then the Big Ten champion will have a minimum of two losses. Does the committee really leave out a one-loss Ohio State team in favor of a two-loss Big Ten champion? Especially if that champion is Wisconsin, a team that Ohio State already beat?

And what if Nebraska somehow wins the Big Ten with two losses? Ohio State beat them by 59 points....

I could easily see Ohio State getting in as the #4 seed behind Alabama, ACC champ, and B1G champ.

This is all confusing, so do we still get into the CFB playoff if we win out or do we have to get PSU to lose to Wisconsin?

Yes it is slightly confusing. Hopefully this analogy helps.

Basically we need PSU to lose BEFORE they play with Wisconsin to guarantee us a spot (with a win over B1G West Champs of course).

So imagine a rock paper scissors game.

1. PSU (Paper since they weak as fuck)
2. TSUN (Scissors, since Jim likes to cut the lights out at sleepovers)
3. OSU (Rock, we are the true champs here)

So before the loss to Iowa:
  • PSU (Paper) beats OSU (Rock)
  • TSUN (Scissors) beats PSU (Paper)
  • OSU (Rock) beats TSUN (Scissors) --> assuming we win on Nov 26th

If we beat an undefeated TSUN, OSU gets to go to the championship game over the Pedsters because seriously, a rock would destroy paper in real life.
Now with this loss, if we beat TSUN they will have 2 conference losses and PSU only with 1. So now it looks like this:
  • PSU (Paper) beats OSU (Rock)
  • TSUN (Scissors rusts and falls apart)
  • OSU (Rock) beats TSUN (Scissors) --> assuming we win on Nov 26th

The Pedsters will get the tie breaker over OSU despite NOT BEATING worthwhile but Ohio State, while we will have 4 or 5 wins over teams in the top 15.

Pretty fair huh.
