2016 CFB Week 11 Thread

You're counting on making the CFP without reaching the B1G title game?

I'd rather not put our hopes on that.
Yes, we only need one of the top 4 spots. Who are going to take those 4 spots?

1. Bama
2. Clemson or Louisville
3. Washington
4. Penn State

Not going to happen as Ped State will still have 2 losses. Washington lost and we already know what the committee feels about their schedule. Clemson possibly since they may be a conference champ. Louisville in the same boat as us with no conference championship. If we win out and all the favorites win out it probably will be:

Bama, OSU, Clemson and either:

Washington, PSU, Whisky or Louisville

It's a pretty solid assumption. Your alternative would require them to choose two weak candidates from the ACC & P12. That's not happening.

The only team I've seen rewarded after watching their CCG on the couch was Alabama, but history has shown their first loss doesn't really count.

We had one loss and watched the B1G title game last year. How did that turn out?

Yeah, I know each year is different. But if it was anyone else no one here would be advocating a team that couldn't reach its CCG get a playoff spot, but since it could be tOSU it's likely to happen. I don't think the committee loves the Buckeyes as much as we love them. We're hoping they do, now.

True, but we weren't needing a good team to lose - we just needed them to win games they should win.

But I'm sure Sparty will put it all together and do what we failed to do - beat PoSU.

God I hope so. I can't believe a team that got destroyed 49-10, and lost to a 5-4 team will get the nod over us.

Undeserving assholes are lucky that MSU is weak this year and that they don't have to play Wisky.

Fuck.

Mr. Heisman hype had another great game. 4 carries for 11 yards. Solid
Peppers had 46 all-purpose yards (16 on a kick-off return).

Wilton Speight was 11/26 for 103 yards, 0 TD, and an INT.

Can't figure out which one of these superstars should win the Heisman this year. Maybe they should just split it.

I have zero faith that this is true. The committee values championships. We won't have one. Unless there are multiple conference champs with 2losses we'll be on the outside looking in.
The committee values whatever they feel like. They made up some nonsense after the first week of rankings that proved to be completely irrelevant and backwards in week 2.

They didn't like Washington before they lost. They certainly aren't going to start liking them now.

You can say "period" 10 more times and it'll still be an assumption.

If we win out and win the B1GCG we're in, period. But now we need the Pedsters to lose a game.
yes, i consider it out of the realm of possibility that if osu wins next week and then beats another top 10 team that we'll drop from #2 to #5 or worse. it just doesn't make sense.

clemson is going to play whom in the acc championship to prove that they're better than us? they're not playing louisville.

the big 12 is going to put someone in ahead of us? absolutely not.

the pac 10? who is washington going to play to prove themselves better than us?

the sec? absolutely nobody other than bama could ever be ranked ahead of us if we win out.

the only risk we have is for 2 big ten teams to be placed ahead of us. the problem there is that we'll have beaten two of them.

you're right that our berth is not absolute. i agree. but looking around the nation makes it clear that there is no threat provided we win out.

I'm not on the committee, so who are you trying convince? It seems like yourself. I hope you're right, but in no way am I taking it for granted as some seem to be doing.
