We never really controlled it after that PSU loss. We had to win out and HOPE that TSUN doesn't lose to guarantee a trip to the B1G championship. Well that last part just went out the window.

It's a pretty solid assumption. Your alternative would require them to choose two weak candidates from the ACC & P12. That's not happening.

True, but we weren't needing a good team to lose - we just needed them to win games they should win.

But I'm sure Sparty will put it all together and do what we failed to do - beat PoSU.

There is no way in Hell, Big title game or not, that TOSU isn't in the playoffs if they win out. They're #2 right now, the Buckeyes NOT losing will be much bigger than anybody else winning. The committee NEEDS TOSU in the playoff, and they know it.

Pretty much all the conference championship games are now irrelevant.

Rutgers, then Sparty. They'd also have to get past UW.

But the committee would have a hard time moving OSU from 2 to 5 in 3 weeks regardless of the CCG berth.

I have zero faith that this is true. The committee values championships. We won't have one. Unless there are multiple conference champs with 2losses we'll be on the outside looking in.
