Thread about their losses in personnel and how it made the difference

Let's look at ours. Some were out, some were severely hampered due to injury

Devin Bogard - ACL
Ezekiel Elliot - No use of his left hand
Noah Spence - Dismissed for drugs
Braxton Miller - Shoulder
JT Barrett - Ankle
Jacoby Boren - Ankle
Dontre Wilson - foot
Jeff Heurman - Ankle
Kosta Karageorge - Death

Anything I missed?

Rod Smith - Dismissed mid season
WR Johnnie Dixon: season-ending injury in first game action
LB Kyle Berger: season-ending injury in preseason
DL Dylan Thompson: season-ending injury in preseason
LB Trey Johnson: career-ending injury, did not play this season
DE J.T. Moore: career-ending injury in preseason
OL Chad Lindsay: career-ending injury in preseason
DB Armani Reeves: missed several games with a concussion
WR James Clark: did not play this year after suffering injury last year
WR: Frank Epitropoulos: quit team
OL Tommy Brown: transfer to Akron

So here's a list of players who are listed in the 2014 team guide who were unavailable for the NCG:

QB Braxton Miller
QB J.T. Barrett
RB Rod Smith
WR Johnnie Dixon
WR James Clark (?)
WR Dontre Wilson (very limited)
WR Frank Epitropoulos
OL Chad Lindsay
OL Tommy Brown
DE Noah Spence
DE J.T. Moore
DL Dylan Thompson
DL Kosta Karageorge
LB Trey Johnson
LB Kyle Berger
DB Devan Bogard

Miller, Barrett, and Spence were huge losses, Smith and Wilson were solid contributors, the rest were guys who would have seen little to no action anyway.

So five major injuries for us, seven for them. Seems pretty even to me, especially considering that we lost two Heisman candidates at quarterback.

Just rewatched the game. Funny thing I realized while watching. With JT at QB we almost always had a wildcat package we implemented, either with JM or DW. Everyone assumed this would increase once JT went down...yet we didn't do wildcat once in the final three games if I IIRC. I wonder what exactly it was about Jones that kept them from doing this. Even if they did it, and I just forget it, they definitely didn't much, nor did they ever in the NCG.

Ohio State played so well in the 2014 NC game and was so dominant that some of us are talking about the depressing 2006 NC game. Time and circumstance washes away all the bad memories. ok, I still have bad memories about 1969. Never mind.

Those teams haven't existed for 45 and 8 years respectively. I can't remember a better time to be a Buckeye than now!

:oh:

I'll take responsibility for this. I can't help myself. I've waited so long to wash that nonexistent night out of my mouth. Feels good. I honestly never had the heart to revisit that night until now. I owe all of that to this team and their will to never quit and punch anyone who dared question their brothers straight in the mouth.

Now that the Secessionists have received their well-earned foot up their ass, we turn our attention to OSU's opponent in the Title Game, the Oregon Nike. The Nike, led by head coach Phil Knight, sport uniforms that are alternately described as "ghastly' and "should be burned, buried and forgotten". Whichever the case, Oregon's hurry-up offense will present a serious obstacle for the 0-8 against Ohio State (or that only count for the SEC against OSU?). Nike's QB, Heisman-trophy-winning Marcus Mariota will be a huge test. Go Bucks.
I can't believe I missed this the first time around

Part of Ohio State's problem in 2006 was they had already played their "bowl game" against UM ranked #2 in the country and then the longgg lay off. It was very hard for them not to be overconfident. Now if Ohio State had played UM in a rematch, which they should have, they would have been totally motivated. Woulda, coulda, shoulda ...
I would rather have lost to florida 41-14 than require our guys to share a field with scum again. They have to endure that stink once a year, isn't that enough?

couldn't think of a good thread to put this but I didn't want to start a new one.....

My 4 year old son came in my bed last night at 3 am. To preface this story, he is constantly coming in my bed in the night and making lame excuses to try and sleep with me. There is the "my foot hurts", "I'm cold", "I mis you".

Last night he comes in and says the following:
Son: "Dad, I had a nightmare. I need to sleep in your bed."
Me: "what's wrong buddy? What happened?"
Son: "I'm just really scared, I had a dream that I liked Michigan"
Me: "jump in boy and lets go to sleep"

Epic win for the little man. You were defeated before the conversation started. Sun Tzu would be proud.
