2015-16 Ohio State Quarterback Discussion

Three quarterbacks, only one starting spot: What comes next at Ohio State?

NEW ORLEANS -- Necks craned and cameras tilted as Ohio State emerged from the stadium’s bowels before Tuesday’s media day. Nearly 100 Buckeyes filed out, but two that didn’t created the most buzz. Injured quarterbacks Braxton Miller and J.T. Barrett both stayed in the locker room to avoid the media, an option available to them because they’re not playing against No. 1 Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

Miller and Barrett indicated to staffers they wanted to avoid questions about their health, future and potential transfers. Mostly, they didn’t want to be distractions. Whether Ohio State’s season ends on Thursday in New Orleans or on Jan. 12 in AT&T Stadium, there’s little doubt as to what the biggest offseason storyline in Columbus -- and arguably all of college football -- will be.

With three talented quarterbacks -- Miller, Barrett and Cardale Jones -- the Buckeyes will face the ultimate first-world college football problem in the next few months. Miller won the Big Ten Player of the Year award in 2012 and '13. Barrett finished in the top five of Heisman Trophy voting. Jones led Ohio State to a 59-0 blowout of Wisconsin in the Big Ten title game. Only one can be the starter in '15.

Very good article.

Just sayin':

1. Having three quality QBs is a lot better than not having any (think scUM here :biggrin2:).

2. I think the "ball is currently in Cardale's court". With 2 more wins this season  and strong "spring practices"; he has a golden opportunity to position himself to be the man to beat out as starting QB next year.

Did anyone else see the scroll during TCU-Ole Miss mentioning Braxton Miller has "shown interest" (whatever that means) in transferring to Florida State?
