2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

Yep, #7 is perfect. And a lot of the national media, that for years have shied away from tOSU are jumping onboard. That convincing win last night will have a far reaching impact on this program going forward. Win out, and I really think tOSU is in the playoff. And if they can play like they did last night, I firmly believe they can beat any team in the country. Just a remarkable job by everyone in this program since that VT debacle.
I have a hard time believing that we will play like last night regularly simply because it was pretty spectacular (short of special teams), but if we can play somewhere in that realm, I'd agree that we will be a tough out for any team. I Can't believe I'm saying that considering where we started.

Of course they'll have off nights, tho I'd argue last night was an off night for the D and ST. The point isn't that they'll perform flawlessly every game, its that theyve proven they're capable of hanging half a hundred on a good D and winning even while spotting the opposition points and field position.

I don't think there's a team in the country tOSU can't beat, even on an off night

Why? They came into The Shoe and did what they planned on doing...winning. We'll get our revenge at their place next season.

You missed his point. It wasn't about them beating OSU...it was about them forgetting they had another 11 games to play. In the playoff world, it's all about who you lose to (assuming you lose at all), and VT has, by becoming a trash heap of a football team, done OSU no favors.

It's not on VT to help our strength of schedule...

Uh, it's on them to win, which directly impacts our SoS. Also, when tOSU scheduled them, they had been a damn good team for years. The reason they were scheduled and not another MAC patsy was because there was a reasonable belief that they would prove to be a quality opponent.

It is on them.

Pretty sure our loss to VT is all on us.
