2014 Preseason and Regular Season Polls

SEC could end up with teams with no less than 2 losses. I could see Miss St. losing to Bama and Ole Miss.

Alabama could then lose to Auburn or to UGA in CCG.

What happens then? Does a 2 loss SEC team make it over a 1-loss Ohio State/TCU/Baylor/AZ State? Or is the SEC left completely out of the playoff ??:lol:
MSU won't lose to ole miss, after ole miss lost their best player. Really need them to beat Bama, no one else is going to. I don't want two one-loss sec teams. I want to see MSU go undefeated to the SEC championship game and then lose :) CHAOS

My dream scenario would be Bama barely beating Miss St, then losing to Auburn, and Miss St losing in the SEC CCG, giving everyone in the mighty SEC West two losses. If this happens and we win out in impressive fashion, there's no way in hell we are behind any SEC team in the final selection...

If a team from the SEC East wins the SEC Title Game it just further validates that the SEC is not as dominant as ESPN wants them to appear to be. I couldn't believe how low Miss St's defense ranked nationally until this past week when I took a closer look at their schedule and statistics. Then, you look at who they played in the non-conference (teams w/o a pulse) and I really can't believe how low they are. I can't see them pulling off the upset in Tuscaloosa even with as good as they have been in conference games all year. Question is, if Miss St. runs the table in the regular season and loses to the eventual SEC East champ, are they the only SEC team that gets in? How funny, after all the hype, would it be if only 1 (a team that didn't even win the conference) or maybe even 0 SEC teams get in?

I don't see the SEC getting two teams in, if OSU, Oregon, FSU, and TCU win out. I also think that if Florida State loses we will be able to win out and go.

My prediction for tonight:

Miss State
Florida State
Oregon
Alabama
TCU
Baylor
Arizona State
Ohio State
Auburn
Ole Miss

Ohio State's road win is big enough t keep them above two loss teams. If not, and losses mean nothing, just who you beat, then OSU needs to cancel their games next year and schedule whoever they can that's not a MAC school (I know this can't happen).

The one thing though. Miss State jumped out to huge leads against LSU and aggy, only to have those teams pull close again towards the end. So I'm not sure how much of that was MSU playing scrubs, or how poor the conditioning of MSU is. Either way, you need to take into consideration that a lot of the really poor defense came late in games they thought they had already won.

Something is wrong with this picture....

1 Mississippi State 9-0
2 Oregon 9-1
3 Florida State 9-0
4 TCU 8-1
5 Alabama 8-1
6 Arizona State 8-1
7 Baylor 8-1
8 Ohio State 8-1
9 Auburn 7-2
10 Ole Miss 8-2
11 UCLA 8-2
12 Michigan State 7-2
13 Kansas State 7-2
14 Arizona 7-2
15 Georgia 7-2
16 Nebraska 8-1

9 - 15 looks very shady. How can you drop a team THREE spots during a BYE week?!? LOL

But at least Bammer isn't in the top four.

No good wins. Their loss doesn't look as impressive. I bet it is ll very close. Imagine an AP poll where all four teams are separated by a handful of votes. If Nebraska wins this week, then I would expect them to move into the top 10.

Dropping the Huskers three spots is the way for the committee to say, "If the SEC ain't getting two in, ain't no way you guys are either..."

Well...we already knew that. A big game for B1G this week is Miami vs Florida State.

If Miami wins, they will move into the top 25, giving Nebraska a top 25 win. If Nebraska can beat Wisconsin, they'd likely jump right ahead of FSU...maybe 8th. Would really open the door for OSU/Nebraska to be a play in game.
