I honestly thought the BCS system was fine if it just picked top teams that lead to the playoffs instead of the national championship, so I totally agree. Auburn should be out of the top 10 after that loss to A&M...instead they are #8. There is zero talk that the Big 12 has done nothing outside of their conference...ok, make the equally valid point that neither has the B1G. But that point falls flat when considering this...aside from the media boner for points scored, what has the Big 12 actually done? A 2-loss KSU team almost beat a 2-loss Auburn team? Sounds a lot like the middling 2-loss Wisconsin program that almost (and should have) beat the mighty SEC opponent in LSU that beat Ole Miss and should have beat Bama. Yet they have SOS because of the false dichotomy set by the yearning for points scored. I will take our top 4-5 versus the top 4-5 Big 12 teams. The Big 12 has done nothing to distinguish themselves as a better conference.
That is the biggest exception I take...how much credit the Big 12 gets. I think the Pac 12 has done their thing inside the conference and out, same with the SEC. Yet the Big 12 and ACC have not. So if a 1-loss team from the SEC or Pac 12 gets picked over us, I have zero qualms. I do, however, have a big issue with a one-loss Big 12 or ACC school jumping us.
