I will say at least they're trying to be aggressive in the draft and they absolutely fleeced the Bills out of a top 10 pick next year and still got the guy they wanted.

That said - Johnny Hatecrime in Cleveland (especially with the #22 pick jinx, the Heisman QB jinx, etc) is going to give @NFBuck plenty of opportunities to post things like :slappy: and :rofl: in the next few years.

I've read a few posts praising experts over internet people. Just keep in mind that the experts are wrong as often as they are right. The draft is a crapshoot. There are clearly plenty of random internet people and experts who saw some big enough flaws in Manziel to pass on him, even when some of those experts needed QBs.

I'm not implying we internet folk are smarter. But sometimes people act like NFL execs and draft gurus do no wrong. In reality, there are some fucking terrible GMs and talking heads out there.

no particular order

1st round picks i liked and grade as A draft picks. cream of the crop. to get an A here means drafting above your slot to me so while i like clowney and robinson and talked the last week with them at 1 and 2, those are B type grades from me.

A+ buffalo bills - sammy watkins - i wanted this at 4 but think the bills overpaid here with that 1st rounder they gave up next year. still love watkins though so if he is as good as i think and the bills think he could be great and worth any number of picks. gotta say though not sold on ej manuel at qb for buffalo so what is watkins getting set up for. hoyer is a better qb to me than manuel. watkins would have been deadly in cleveland with gordon and cameron and any number of qb stiffs (not that i think hoyer is a stiff). with weapons like that we could draw a free agent qb moving on, oh well.

A+ oakland raiders - khalil mack - great pick for the raiders. one of my best friends at work is a die hard raider guy and i gotta say i was pumped for him when this pick happened. mack may not be the highlight film star like clowney, but he has a long career ahead of him if he can stay healthy. i like this type of pick in the first round generally. safe pick, low risk, long career type. A+ indeed.

A+ pittsburgh steelers - ryan shazier - not doing any research here, but pretty sure dick lebeau is back for the steelers next year and it will be great to see shazier get a chance to play for him and other buckeyes like cam heyward and will allen (i think). he also played for vrabel who lebeau coached up into a great career so there is that too. very happy to see shazier go to a traditional defensive team and one with lots of opportunity for him.

A minnesota vikings - anthony barr and teddy bridgewater - i like the move to get bridgewater. i wouldn't trade hoyer for ponder unless ponder's old lady blew me and then sorry brian but you gots to go. anyway, first saw bridgewater in 7 on 7 when he was like 15 or so. right away he stood out and i always kind of followed him from afar since. good situation for him in minnesota. who wouldn't like to hand of to adrian peterson all day. side question, who the fuck won the heismans over peterson. can't recall the years due to the beers, but damn those guys must have been bad ass. was troy one of them? also like the barr pick. he was tough at ucla when i saw him. another safe pick to me. linebackers in general seem safe to me unless perhaps they are mad dogs in meat markets then run browns run.

Kinda funny that the Brownies trade up a spot to get a guy they would have had if they waited one pick, yet everyone bitches about getting a guy that was supposed to go top 10 at #22.

B grades, teams whose 1st rounders i liked but they were as expected.

B+ houston texans - jadaveon clowney - as expected. obligatory clip.



B st louis rams - greg robinson - loved all the orlando pace and jackie slater talk on the NFL network coverage. not comparing at all but talking about the history and the mentors available. great respect for the our big O (all respect to the original big O there). i still like bradford if he had some weapons to work with. time will do. austin was a good pick last year, robinson is this year. hope not to get bradford again as my 2nd fantasy qb this year. . . .

Negatives... Plays in the spread offense, taking the bulk of his snaps from the shotgun... Tends to side-arm his passes going deep...Lacks accuracy and touch on his long throws... Seems more comfortable in the short/intermediate passing attack...Does not possess the ideal height you look for in a pro passer, though his ability to scan the field helps him compensate in this area...Will improvise and run when the passing lanes are clogged, but tends to run through defenders rather than trying to avoid them to prevent unnecessary punishment.

No that's not Johnny Manziels scouting report, that is DREW BREES scouting report!

C grade, average draft for the first round, getting there early to get to the browns

C- Cleveland Browns - Justin Gilbert and Manziere. I like Gilbert as a player and in particular for the Browns, in particular with another first round pick in the top 5 or 10 next year (in addition to our own top 3 pick when we try and start Manziel). Gilbert and Haden sound great together and we picked up Donte Whitner too. I liked our D already, loving it now. Would have liked Mack, Watkins, or Mathews at #4 had we stayed there. None of them are worth Gilbert and a top pick next year. Don't know that we needed to trade up for Gilbert but whatever. Pettine is a defensive oriented coach and I like the direction of the D so far.

As for Manziel, at least we got him late. Probably wouldn't have traded up for him. Kind of feels like Brady Quinn with the drop in the draft, the Clowns trading up, the bust coming to Cleveland.

Would think Texas fans can mop up bar bets with A&M fans on who throws for more yardage in his Cleveland career JFF or Colt McCoy. My money is on Colt McCoy. If wrong and Manziel is the shit, I will wear that jersey with pride still.

B for Gilbert, D for Manziel, average it to a C, give it a minus for trading up for both when I would have rather waited. still love the extra #1 next year. throw that in and it probably is at least a B and maybe an A draft. Still though this is the Browns so you know they will blow that pick some how. didn't cut down the bills for losing the pick, won't bump up the browns for the pick.

all in all happy. manziel will be a sideshow, can't wait for hoyer to show him whats up in camp.

Yeah you're not a Manziel fanboy but you're comparing him to one of the top 10 QBs ever before he even takes a snap. Good going :roll1:

Haha are you clueless? I am showing that Brees had the same concerns as Manziel does by haters like you. If you can't see that then... well god bless your soul my man. You really like to hang all over my nuts and nitpick everything I say don't you old chum?
