Gunner Kiel won't even go back.
I am pulling for the B1G in 2 out of 3 of those games. This is horrible news.
Maybe it is time for Urban Flipper Myer to recruit some ND verbalers?
We are talking "imaginary QB" here.

Mothra;2341265; said:Yeah, I know he's the butt of a lot jokes, but the guy can coach and obviously recruit. Don't let his overall record fool you. He's turned some crap programs around w/ less talent than Urban had while he was doing the same to bgsu and utah. Not to say he's better than Urban, or vice versa, but his teams will be a thorn in our side for a while...
You're mistaking competence as a prerequisite to those programs beating ND.Buckeyevsworld;2341255; said:I don't see MSU or Purdue winning even with ND's current QB situation.
Yea, and his DC is Urban Meyer's former DC ... Mattison is pretty good.Buckeyevsworld;2341254; said:Could also be that Hoke is the coach.

Again, I'm happy UM landed Peppers, more glad that the Big Ten will clearly have two top programs to compete with the big dogs.
Two is clearly better than none.

UpNorth_Buckeye;2341271; said:Recruit? Yes. Coach? Maybe. He has turned programs around as Meyer has, but never once winning a conference title doesn't really help the argument that he is a great, or even above average, coach.
BUCKYLE;2341410; said:We know who your DC is. Your OC couldn't cross the 50 after halftime last year.
Okay. Note though, he also has had to work with RichRod's leftovers, and that hasn't been easy. He didn't have a talent Peppers.Buckeyevsworld;2341424; said:Yeah, he managed to hold Bama to 41.

Our OC had some pretty nice success at Auburn ... with talented players.
The way I see all this... Peppers might not be a huge difference maker by himself, but UM has recruited other top recruits, so like it or not, Michigan should get better with an influx of talent. That helps the rivalry. And having Peppers go to Michigan helps the Big Ten. I live in Atlanta GA, and our conference is a joke to these people down here ... including Michigan and Ohio State. I'm sick and tired of hearing their noise. The thing is, if UM and OSU keep recruiting the way they have been ... and there is no reason to think they're going to stop, than maybe the B1G will have at least two national powers that can compete with the SEC -- going forward. I know we have the greatest rivalry in all of sports, but we're a package deal, and it only works when both teams are elite, and elite teams start by recruiting elite talent. Peppers is a good, respectful kid .. in an interview I read, kid wouldn't say one bad thing about Ohio State, other than to say it's the greatest rivalry in all of sports and that he can't wait to be apart of that, and he will be. Heck, I hope all the top players keep coming to either UM or Ohio State!
