2013 TSUN Football News

Our OC had some pretty nice success at Auburn ... with talented players.

He had a big season in year 1 when inheriting three first round picks, then his numbers slid down quickly, which is why he was fired from Auburn.

But Borges made magic out his first Auburn offense behind a senior backfield that included future first-round NFL picks in Jason Campbell, Carnell Williams and Ronnie Brown. The Tigers finished 25th in the nation in total offense that year and Borges was hailed as the man who brought Auburn's talent together. But the Tigers slipped to 37th in total offense in 2005, 76th in total offense in 2006 and heads to the Chick-fil-A Bowl ranked at the 101 mark, ahead of only 18 other teams

Could anything possibly scream "little brother" syndrome any more?

I guess it's supposed to motivate everyone to do better maybe? It seems like its just a constant reminder of their inferiority.

Ohio State does that too, obviously, but they simply limit it to the days until their next game. I guess it's no secret at this point, but similarly to Penn State, TSUN's self worth is now completely dependent on how they stack up and are perceived relative to the Buckeyes. Hilarious.

I wonder if they will take it down eventually and Hoke can change it to a sign saying, "No really, I did win once against Ohio when I lucked out and barely beat their worst team in a quarter century."

When Hoke was first hired, he did some things that I thought were brilliant. As much as it irritates some of our Buckeye Brethren (I am not one that it does), calling tOSU only Ohio was one of those moves. It really helped cut us down in size in the eyes of his players and fanbase.

However, this is only the latest offering that Hoke was lucky rather then brilliant with some of these early moves. As 86 points out, it dwells on the negative and as Josh caught Michigan is now planning for failure.

I beginning to think that Hoke may in fact be a good recruiter, but a average motivator and game day coach.

I think his recruiting may eventually backfire on him as well. My strong impression is that he attracts elite players that like being told how great they are and not about how they need to work harder than they ever have in their lives to be champions in college.

I think Hoke is lining up a fabulous run of 2007-esque seasons with amazing talent that consistently underperforms.

The fact that Hoke is a fat idiot blowhard that can't motivate or coach worth a damn certainly won't help.

Man, you nailed this one. The essence of the "Michigan man" - arrogant, entitled, self-absorbed, great by association and not by accomplishment.
